Suddenly inaccurate?
I have used this app for years, and happily paid for Elite. It’s been great. Today I went for a walk on a trail I’ve taken many times before. I was impressed at how much faster my speeds had gotten. But strange things were happening. I’d lock my phone, unlock it to check my progress, and suddenly it was telling me my mile pace was way way faster than it should have been. Leaving my phone unlocked, while not practical, helped a bit. When I finished my round trip on the trail, my numbers and splits were all better than I’d had before. Checked the map, and, for some reason Walkmeter is thinking a round trip on this hiking trail, a mile out and a mile back, is actually more like 2.3 miles. Only a few weeks ago Walkmeter was properly seeing this as a 2 mile walk. So my distance is way off, screwing up everything else. What is going on?Show lessEST NYC

I’ve used this app for over three years and it’s fantastic. I tried others before it and none can compare. It is extremely accurate regardless of activity. The customizable reports are superb and true motivators to always do better.Billy 1193
Great app!
I love this app. It tracks the miles on my shoes which is great. When the miles are working correctly it keeps track of my pace and distance. I have found when I am not able to walk for a couple days the miles are double what they should be. Eventually it will track correctly, but it’s a pain to track when it’s not.Show lessReinydawn
Awesome app with awesome support
Walkmeter is by far the app if it’s kind that I’ve come across. I’ve tried several others but either the GPS is wonkie or the app was unreliable or the data/tracking stats just never seemed right. Walkmeter gets all these things accurately and has even more features. I love the announcements as they keep me motivated during my hikes. And being able to edit a route name and have the cumulative data for the route automatically update is fantastic. And I can’t say enough about the support. The included help guide us great, the help in the website is even better, but when I still have a question I get responses in less than two days. Other app developers should take notes on how to provide good support. I can’t say enough about this app. The free version is great but the paid version is even better and well worth the latte you give up to buy it.Show lessSnohoman

This app has a ton of features that may make it worth the cost (for Elite), but all I wanted to know was how fast I was walking - i.e., my pace. This app consistently records incorrect mileage and pace. I’ve walked a route that is 4.1 miles for the last 6 months. Walkmeter Elite has recorded the distance as 3.6 to 4.5 and everything in between. It tells me my fastest pace is 8 minute mile when I know that there is no way that is true. I never sprint, jog or run on my walks. My knee won’t allow it. So I will be ditching Walkmeter Elite and going with Garmin.Show lessnonmae10199
My main watch app
I love this app before I got a watch. Since the watch, it has become my most cherished monitor of my life and travels. Every where I go I try to find a long walk to take with this app following me. Afterwards I reflect on the walk with the map and can vividly recall bay to breakers in San Francisco, canal walks in London and the north of England, a beach in Dubai and so many more. The watch part help me monitor progress while the phone records the map and detail. Great fun and lovely reflectionsShow lessPVLJr

I’ve used this app for several years, but I upgraded to Elite when I saw the heart rate feature within the app, and display on my iWatch. This worked wonderfully for a week... now the heart rate isn’t captured at all. I know that the HR still works on the iWatch, but not within the app. I’m very disappointed. I love walking, listen to music, and getting my pace updates from the Walkmeter app. I’ve tried everything to fix it. After a couple weeks I got it to work for one day. I love the app, but I won’t keep the Elite, if the HR doesn’t work.Show lessBallmomta2

What I want is essentially the Apple Watch exercise track plus decent elevation tracking, because I mostly hike on bluffs for my workout. This does decent elevation tracking! But while it has a screen for tracking heart rate, it stays at “—“ the whole time. Looking at the recording afterwards my heart rate shows as a flat 100 the whole time, and my calories burned is like 18.
Without that heart rate, this offers less than the free app and isn’t worth the price. I’ve gone over the Health settings a dozen times and can’t find a permission I’ve missed. Am I crazy or does this really not track heart rate?Show lessthisisfumb
Great app and Support
Walkmeter gives me more information than I can possibly use and is very easy to configure. Uploads data to ActivityTracker and Strava if you choose. Had a problem of my own doing, Fran in Abvio Support almost immediately walked me through solutions, and followed up to the end over several days. Can’t praise enough.Show lessCdSSoCalAl
