Great documentaries and interesting programming, plus the news are very balanced and not biased like other networks. I love watching the Sumo tournament, amazing! My only request is please bring to functioning order the Spanish subtitles please, they sometimes don’t work :(dragon_azteca
COVID-19 VACCINATION RATES
Hello. Long time ago I was in Yokosuka Naval Base after a tough day at the office; a Marine CH 46 and ended my tour at Atsugi. I have worked in the private sector as a Project Manager which often involved competing with Japanese firms and have great respect for them. So, make a long story not any longer, why is the vaccination rate in Japan below 20% with the Olympic Games beginning in July and why is there little reporting on NHK ? Are their other interests whose priorities benefit from discouraging the games and why am I not seeing this issue on your news?Show lesstjshanz
Good but please fix.
Streams the live feed well but please have the option to remove the closed captions on Apple TV. Also some areas of the on demand programs such the descriptions of the episodes need to be fixed. You cannot go back to the previous screen as pressing the back button will exit the app. The only fix is to restart the app. Please make the on demand programs stream in he as the are quite blurry.Show lesss2grand
Great but glitchy
Great content, but doesn’t use native Apple TV video player, so feels difficult to navigate compared to most other apps. There is a glitch when opening “read more” text boxes, where you have to quit the app and restart as it gets stuck there.GrantRoud
Japan is falling behind
If NHK the national broadcaster can't update the app to play on Cromecast then is in a sad state. I once suggested a change to their world weather to show where cities were and they updated that quickly but I never got a thank you for a great idea so I never gave them any more. With a shrinking population and problems growing is sad.Show lessBogW
On Apple TV unable to navigate back to home menu
On latest Apple TV build with latest NHK app version. When you browse content and look at program details the back button takes you back to Apple TV home page rather than allowing you to go back to browse nhk content. Means the Apple TV has to restarted each time. This happens in both Apple TV I have to clearly an app issue.Show lessbanksuck
NHK Program Viewing Puts me at Peace
After living in Japan for a year several years ago, I really like watching NHK. The variety of programs is always enjoyable and relaxing. After watching a show, especially travel or food related, I feel much more at peace. Maybe it is the simple English and calming voice, but no matter, I love it.Show lessNomadphotos
Disappointing these last several months
NHK is first and foremost a new channel. For the most part 30 minutes of each hour is dedicating news. It gets very repetitive and the news is obviously left biased. Since the COVID outbreak most of the news is dedicated to that. Many of the news short features are recycled from news of previous weeks and months.
The rest of the programming is interesting. The travel programs in particular are great to watch. Medical Frontiers is another great show.
Many of the shows suffer from over eager hosts who are distracting from the subject at hand. It’s too bad.
One show in particular, Science View has fantastic subject matter but the way the dialogue is scripted turns the experience negative. I wonder if the hosts are reading off cue cards or are in separate locations ? It’s very distracting.

Scrubbing time line doesn't go away (Apple TV)
I love NHK! But I noticed on the Apple TV app when scrubbing to fast forward or rewind, the timeline doesn't disappear but stays in the screen. Please fix!!TofuNatto
Need more programs back...
I have used this app and had to remove few months back due to storage issue. Now I am back to only see lots and lots of programs like Food, learning, outside Japan are missing . Is this going to last? Please share all the shows. Thank you.DeepKb
