  • WACK

    This so called “free” app doesn’t help you if you don’t cough up a few bucks and let’s suppose you’re me you know a bit of guitar but want to learn more say nothing else matters by Metallica I see this and the name sounds quite cool I download it completely disregard the reviews I will show you what is wrong with this (Disclamer no cussing is in this so lil jimmy doesn’t cry bc it has a cuss in it) it has;

    • a big bug that doesn’t let you close out of a video when you watch it

    • as I said it is “free” but doesn’t help if you don’t cough up money

    • it is so unhelpful if you stay free like me

And all and all sucks so if you want to check it out it is the worst one imaginable the tuning app guitar tuna helps more and that’s on the tuning part 0.000001/10 would throw it in fire millions of time

  • Must Upgrade to get most content

After the introductory video this “free” app requires an upgrade to unlock lessons. Nothing against the developers making a living, but this should be explained up front. Wasted my time.
  • Absolutely Awesome!

Definitely a must-download for new and advanced guitar players alike. I've improved my soloing ability through the fantastically HUGE selection of jam tracks in every style. Do yourself a favor and download!
  • Dated and useless

Stick to the desktop version there is absolutely no point of this app it’s looks and feels old and half the time doesn’t work which means you have to close down the app and restart it, which then means logging in again aaaaaaaah. JamPlay obviously doesn’t invest any of there membership fees in this app and in my opinion should be deleted as it makes JamPlay look dated which is a shame as JamPlay is a very decent site to learn guitar.

  • Great program the app has some issues

This program is great for learning guitar and bass. Lots of teachers to choose from and many different ways to learn. The phone app has issues tho you can’t exit out of a video once you play it therefore you can’t access the multiple segments within the lesson. Therefore it makes it kind of useless to use your phone, unless the lesson has only one segment. Hopefully a fix will come out soon.

  • App doesn’t work properly on iOS 12

Firstly, the desktop interface of jamplay is great and the selection of lessons can’t be faulted. However the app doesn’t seem to have been updated in a long time and it shows. It looks quite dated and has a number of bugs such as not being able to exit out of a video once it starts playing or being able to read the description of a lesson series. Annoyingly it also seems to log me out after every lesson which requires entering usernames and passwords again. In short, the content is good but the app is not... stick to accessing the lessons via your computer.

  • Bugs bugs and more bugs.

Loving Jamplay but the app is really irritating in terms of not playing back a complete lesson. Instead it jumps to the next lesson at random intervals. When it does complete there is no way of leaving the black end screen (the cross does not work) and instead its necessary to force quit the app. Also when going to my lessons history to continue a lesson I’m taken to the sign up page even though I am already logged in. So bugs fixes required, I’m going to have to use the browser until these issues are resolved. Sort it out Jamplay, this is a paid for service.

  • App Jam, No Play - Not Functional

If you’re trying to learn how to play the guitar, avoid JamPlay because you spend more time trying to debug their app. Another significant disappointment is no chat or phone support in the evenings or weekends.

Login and beginner lessons jam up. With an account, you can’t login into the app (iOS device). Through the app I attempted to open a new account, it of course recognize I already have an account, then it allowed me to login. ‘frustrating’

In beginner lessons it will only allow you to watch the first session. Then it locks/jams up, it will not advance to another session. I can’t imagine their talented instructors are happy with this non-functional app.

JamPlay jams alright, but not the way I expected!

  • Adding insult to injury. Don't even try this.

To preface this comment, I'd like to say that I honestly to enjoy Jamplay's content. All sorts of lessons that I'd LOVE to pay for. But this is where I have issues. I'm not at my laptop most of the time. If I wasn't on the go a lot, I'd have time to sit at my laptop and use this service. Thankfully, there's an app though, right? It's advertised all over the website, talking about how it's available on so many devices. But that's all it is. Just available. It doesn't work. Plus it seems to be optimized for a long-since obselete operating system (iOS 8). That was 4 years ago. We are on iOS 12 now. I know for a fact that there have been a ton of people who have complained about the unusability of the app. Yet I havent seen ANY sort of consolation. Any sort of acknowledgment or even willingness to work on the app. Not only can I not view content on it but every time I leave the app (still running in background) I get immediately logged out. I've tried several times since I first got a membership back on iPhone 6. Then on iPhone 7. Then 8. Now XS Max. Also on a few iPads. To me, the devs must obviously not even care about the apps. If they did, they'd at least reply to the negative comments saying they're working on it. Or even say that there will be an update in the future. But it has literally been a ghost town for years. It's time to finally stop trying.

  • Free? Not

This one says it’s free but it’s not you have to pay after you listen to someone’s speel about why you need to use them as a teacher and who they are. No trial period to see if you like the app either :(
