  • 3 star for me because

Thanks for the reply and yes I found it.

One more thing I noticed and done everything to see if it fixes it but nope it’s a bug. It’s when I search with voice a address or anything else it says > No internet connection. Could you look into it please via CarPlay. I haven’t tried on my iPhone but might be the same.

The "No Internet" message is not a bug. It is misleading wording which we are changing today to say "No response found" The issue is that the search term you are using is not getting any response from the server. If you change or simplify the search term it should work. There will be a new update available early next week to fix this. We can be contacted directly at: support@metroview.com.au
  • Save your licence, livelihood & life

This app has a comprehensive database of speed limits, included timed school zones. Set the alert for 3km/h over the speed limit and it is easy to drive within speed limits.
This app works in the background with Carplay so you can still receive speed alerts while using another navigation app.
Road safety research has repeatedly confirmed that half of the serious crashes involving a vehicle travelling at 5 to 10km/h over the speed limit would not have occured if that vehicle had been within the speed limit.

  • Overall good app

overall the mapping software seems to work fine, speed alerts and display arer a handy touch, would like to be able to plan and save a custom route with more than one waypoint as it tends to divert back to point to point which will get you out of trouble but makes planning a trip difficult.
  • Location always on ??!!

Have used MetroView for many years. Always happy with it. Latest edition now won’t function unless you set location services to Always On. Previous versions only needed it to be on when using the app. Regrettably I’ll be switching to HereWeGo or similar. (2 stars awarded before update below)
UPDATE 3/3/23: Just received a helpful message from MetroView developer team on how to overcome this issue. Haven’t tried it yet but the suggestion looks solid. Much appreciated. Sticking with MV.

If you have the setting Background Alerts in the bottom left of the main menu switched to While Driving, this allows speed alerts and other safety warnings to work when the app is in the background. Simply turn this setting OFF and then you do not require location permission to be set to Always. Please contact Metroview support if you require any other assistance. support@metroview.com.au
  • older version

wish the link to the older version that suits my older phone would work. Have been using metroveiw for five years but it stopped opening after the last update and it wont let me go back to the version that worked, Bummer
  • Goooood

    2022 UPDATE:

I’m so glad I stuck to it still the best pay gps map sys out there IMHO got more sophisticated over time but easier to use for basic functions.

Has been supporting multiple lanes for sometimes and has handy features like camera warnings and different settings for speed limit warnings

    and gets updated regularly

Still the best after many years.

No whistles and funky things are happening with this simple but very functional app.

In Adelaide and surroundings it works just fine. Probably On certain roads should support multiple lanes but I'm the kind of guy that love looking out the window rather than on the phone's screen, so I just listen to it and so far so good.

It also make me listen my own music when is not telling me where to go: when I miss a turn is quiet quick to recalculate.

Just be aware that It drains your battery if u never switch the screen off but it's usually wise keeping ur iPhone charging while operating this kind of gps based apps anyway.

Last update made it very flexible and it works on landscape mode quiet nicely.

The price is unbeatable and u've been driven at destination.

    Well done

  • Metro V

I have been using MV for the past 5 years, the best navigation device ever bought, always easy to use and have all the jobs I’ve been to saved incase I need to return, and will update when required without having to pay for extra maps.
  • One of the Best

I have owned many GPS navigation devises over the years , the latest being a Navman, and the worst device I have ever owned, wrong directions, barely readable screen

I recently had to drive over 800 klm. And the Navman was playing up as usual, luckily I had the Metro app on my ph, what a life saver, never skipped a beat and got me to my location without any problems whatsoever

Highly recommend this app as it is inexpensive ,never fails , and does what it is supposed to do

  • Good replacement for traditional GPS unit

This doesn’t have the traffic tracking like the online apps do but when you want a traditional GPS this is perfect. Regular Map updates. Shows your speed. Works with CarPlay. Thumbs up

    Developer Response

Thank you for the feedback. Live Traffic is available as an in app purchase for $7.99. Please contact support@metroview.com.au if you need any further assistance.
