  • Excellent board

I've played chess for fifty years. Not very well I'm afraid. I've played classic boards, automated boards and app boards. App boards are by far my favorite. So convenient and versatile! This app is my favorite. First, I like the way it "plays". I'm actually slowly becoming a better player! For me the board is intuitive to use and helpful. The many boards and pieces to choose from is a nice touch. I also sometimes save games to play later. The menu bars cover everything I ever want to do and the fonts are very nicely done. The best chess board I have ever owned! Period.

  • One fun dream feature to have

I would like to see a feature that gave each player a count of the number of moves the other player would need to win the game if the player about to move did not move at all. This would speedup the player’s game in the long run because he or she could develop whole new tactics and strategy in the same way that Alpha Zero did. They would want to increase the necessary number of opponent moves.

  • New2thegame

As a new comer i wish the training link gave more info. It says not to take the move without further explanation. And it give the title of opening moves but nothing about those moves. Maybe just me but kinda wish training was more training and reasoning stuff. I have idea what im doing so far.
  • Very good all around chess app!

For someone that loves the game (but hasn’t played in years) this is a near ideal match. It can play at quite an easy level for when you are rusty but, as you get better, it will give you a run for your money. The free app is nice but the paid (one time) is well worth it! Many nice features! You spend more on coffee during a work day. 😉 Recommended.

  • Evaluation

    1. The evaluation of the positions is frustrating. It shows up only after the computer makes its move and disappears when I use the back and forward arrows. I would like to see the evaluation display for each move as I use the arrows so I can understand the positions better.

    2. I want the evaluation to show MY move. Not just my opponent (the computer).

    3. The evaluation shows either positive numbers or negative numbers depending on whether the move was good or bad, but there’s a problem with how that is done in this app. They are always relative to whichever side just played the move but they should be specific to the actual color. What I mean is, negative evaluation should always mean black is winning and positive numbers should always mean white is winning. So, regardless of which color was last to move, whatever number the evaluation displays should reflect the true evaluation of the position. If black plays a good move and is winning, it should not show a positive number in the evaluation. It should show a negative number because negative is supposed to mean black is winning and positive is supposed to mean white is winning. Negative is good for black. Positive is good for white.

  • Helping Me Back

I’ve been looking for a chess teaching app and this one is PRICELESS! I know how to play, I used to play more regularly when I was younger. Due to obligations and other issues I stepped away from the game for a while. This is a great refresher course and it’s helping me to get back to where I left off and beyond. It’s hard to put this down very addictive which is a good thing.

  • Novice level

This is an excellent app! Since I’m new to the game, the training mode keeps me aware of all my wrong moves before I make them. This app is better than any person could ever be for teaching me how to play chess. No patience needed and you can play as long as you want. That’s awesome!
  • Fun teaching and playing at my level.

My game has improved being able to have more difficult play as I progress. Highly recommend it.
  • Simple yet effective

I have not played in a while, but the features present in the game allow you to build back to probably what you were before and go further up
  • Surprisingly good

This app is just what I need. I haven't played in awhile and this app help me rediscover the joy of playing. I really like the graphic teaching mode. It is simple but very effective. I love the suggestions and threats feature.
