Plays like a normal match(speed chess), wish the computer could make random human mistakes. The randomness would decrease as the computer rating increases. Another option is for the time to stop as soon as you touch the board, with a 2second lag for the completion of the move. Also, computer “thinks” only for t certain amount of time, like 5seconds/move. Great marketability!

Just started playing, so far so good. It's nice to work on your game as life affords you small moments of time to brush up. Over a week later pretty happy with software. My game is getting stronger and that was the whole intention of DL'n the software. Unsure what stability issues folks were having but I have had no issues.

  • Review November 2013

Needs a Rated game icon. Whereby the engine analysis is masked and the hint button is disabled. It is too easy to hit the hint button during a rated game. Would be nice to select an opening to force the computer to play. This is a very entertaining program.
  • Yes to chess

Thank you for reducing considerably the new lead in ads before the game. Great improvement. I have always liked this chess app the most. Coach is great, in addition to the higher levels. You will easily become addicted. Thank you for taking out the ads.
  • Great Chess App

I love this app…challenging puzzles, rated games to show progress, and even master tournaments…great way to improve

In training mode, sometimes the reason for the move isn’t clear. Although most of the time, after thinking about it, the reason becomes clear. Anyway, maybe a short note would be nice if requested.

  • Good chess app.

Great game on the phone, but on the ipad looks different and harder to play in the more 3D style. I like a flat board seen from above. I especially like the training mode where I get a better idea of why some moves that seem like a good idea actually aren’t.
  • Chess on the iPad

This is a very good learning tool. I like the feature that you can take back your moves if you made a mistake. So you can try other moves until you find the one that works. And if you’re stymied, you can try the clue Key. And, that helps the learning process also.
  • Chess with options

Chess is been around for centuries, a mental exercise a joyful one with measured improvements in the quality speed and agility of my moves, the thoughtfulness of this app honing my skills through an engaging interface. Thank you.
  • I can beat the 820 elo bot

I am the guy who couldn’t beat the bot. I can beat him now, but not just because I’ve learned a more these last few weeks, but because I found out that the pieces start to look the same and I start mistaking pawns for bishops. The 3d aspect is what is throwing me off. If there was an option to turn off shadows I think that would help a lot. Also if you wouldn’t just assume that my chess game is bad and I was misled. Especially just saying that LOL.

    Developer Response

Hello, great to hear that you are now beating it! There is no fun to be had playing a game that lets you win all the time. There are 5000+ different setboard combinations. Is there a different one that you could try?Our chess engine came 4th in the World Championships so we're always going to take the side of our engine over somebody that says it doesn't play properly. Please forgive us and keep that rating inching higher. The ELO settings took months of computing power to adjust.
