  • good game. first review got deleted somehow

…interesting …great game, but data is definitely sent to both googlesyndication and fakebook’s app-measurents regardless of settings opted by user. (1) great play, (2) the landscape mode could be improved by correcting stretched graphics, (3) no method to clear either history nor play data without deleting app, (4) even if adverts are turned off by paying 50cent/mo app continues to trigger data sends every 5-10second to googlesyndicate and fakebook user trackers. *** apologies to developer, i had a better review yesterday, but perhaps mention of scroogle and fakebook apis, review was removed?? who knows… regardless, this is a great chess game and tool for improving chess skills… love it!!! it’s appreciated. if ever your able, it’d be great to see all developers focus more on privacy and data ethics by eliminating all user tracking. thanks

Hello, did you opt out of tracking? It only uses Google ADMOB. No Facebook. We will investigate as it really should be dormant if you have subscribed.
  • Cool

Simple, no noticeable bugs, you can save games, it has a ton of features like 1v1, 1v computer and you can toggle between the modes in the middle of the game. Really awesome app, I’ve had this app since I was a junior in high school back in 2014
  • Chess app

Always love a good game of chess. This one does not disappoint. It has good puzzle modes to get you thinking and training modes to help the beginning player. It’s a bit glitchy at times (small distraction) but no pieces move or anything so I am still happy with it. It would be my only suggestion for improvement, no glitchy/blinking would make it a 5star app for me.

Review update for developer; yes I found the blinking when using “puzzle mode” “mate in two moves”. It’s not every time either and lately it has been pretty good. Great app and thank you for following up with this review.

Hello, we haven't been able to reproduce the blinking. Is there anything else that you can tell us about when exactly it happens?
  • Best Ever!

Hands down the best chess app I’ve seen. Selectable ELO rankings faithfully correspond to skill level of virtual opponent. Ability to undo moves allows experimenting with different lines without having to restart the game. All moves are saved in a file that can be easily emailed or texted for sharing or saving for later analysis. What else could you possibly need?!

  • Great chess trainer

I love chess, and playing this whenever and wherever I am, without having to ask anyone else is great! The computer can be set as difficult as you want it to be. Excellent for training yourself.
  • Misleading

This is advertised as a free app with lots of amenities, but that’s not the case. This app allows you to play a simple game of chess against an AI, and has a “Grand Master” teaching mode that shows a few move possibilities, but they seem to be random and are NOT the best available moves as claimed. And that is all. The app has none of the other things advertised unless you buy the pro version.
If you’re selling an app, great. At least be honest about it. If I feel like your trying to con me, then why would I give you money? This app is the Liberty Mutual commercial of the app world!

Hello, we're sorry you didn't like our Chess, but you can in fact play all seven of the modes. Your statement is simply not true. For the very best moves you must increase the strength of the engine in the settings panel. No app can give you the best moves 100% of the time. Even a high end computer would struggle to do that in an acceptable amount of time.
  • Excellent App

This is an excellent app for the average player, and it’s really useful for practicing and learning the game. The interface is great. It’s definitely a good value if you like basic chess, and unless you’re rated over 2000 this will keep you busy for quite awhile. I’m getting back to chess after years away. Glad I got this app!

  • I like chess

I was trying to play a rated game starting at level one however I was just checking to see what piece the computer took by a form of taking back just to see the line as to why the piece was moved and put it back to where to computer had it. It moved me up in levels after the game but did not register any analyze in the game. Kinda need the levels reset since this was not counted as a rated game.

  • Great Training Mode

Best free chess app with training mode that gives you several options to move and even provides a "are you really sure you want to make that move" after a bad move. Numerous options
  • Long irritating ads

I had an earlier version of this Ap that had banner ads. I saw and read them all and occasionally clicked on one. I got a new iPhone and with it a new version of the Ap. Now ads shut the game down, occupy several screens in succession, and you have to endure to the point of irritation. In addition many of the ads are for simplified games that are of little challenge. I understand the need for ads, but the developers need to understand when too much harms rather promotes a product.

Hello, this version was only released yesterday and you should not be seeing anything other than banner ads yet. Also it should not be possible to see one main ad straight after another. Please would you give us feedback on this version.
