  • Excellent app BUT

The app functions so good, clearly as advertised BUT I wish we could write and add chords on top of lyrics instead of writing ChordPro format which is confusing for newer people.
  • Love the app but loses my songs

I have been using Songbook for several years as an amateur musician who is starting to gig some. Love the way it pulls songs from Chordie and allows key transitions, manual entering comments, etc. I have over 1300 songs on my two iPads and they sync nicely when making changes in either one. HOWEVER, several times I have selected songs that I have been playing for years and it will suddenly say “SONG NOT FOUND”. The title is there, but not the song. One time it suddenly lost over 300 songs at one time, many of these were entered manually or had changes made in them manually to better suit our performance style. The first time this happened, I spent weeks going thru my list and finding the lost songs and loading them in again, or, even worse, manually entering them again. It has happened several more times but not to that extent. I am becoming hesitant to use the app now, for fear it will lose songs during or right before a gig. What could be causing this? Thanks!! Developer Response

Chances are you sync with a cloud storage and someone deleted the song on another device. Please contact us directly (via Contact on the About screen) and we will sort it out.
  • The must have app for musicians

I’ve used both the iOS app and Mac version for years. I now have a huge back catalogue of hundreds of songs I play on the guitar and piano.

Support for the apps is also fantastic. I’ve asked quite a few questions and have always received a highly informative responses.
  • Every Guitar player showed have this app.

I have had this app for years, and its been great! Easy to use, Dose what its supposed to do and does it well!

Recently I have had issues with it; missing playlists and songs- yet when I looked into it I discovered that it was not this app but the place I had been storing the files. When I contacted the songbook support people I received a prompt email back (on News Years Eve no less); the email confirmed what I thought was happening and I was able to correct all my issues.

If I could give this app 6 stars I would.

One note of caution: if you use Dropbox with it BACKUP you files and playlists… Dropbox has been doing odd things lately.

    Cheers

  • Excellent App and Service

I have used another app for years that slowly but surely got way too big and complex beyond its original purpose.

This app does exactly what it says and limits its functionality to what is needed to maintain neat and organized charts.

I wrote the author once asking a question and received an almost immediate reply unlike other apps that take forever to acknowledge your existence

This is a great app and you will not be disappointed.

    Thank you

  • App pretty good, but support is worse than terrible

Title says it all. Support is non existent.
  • Great !

I have been using this app for around 5 years now and will continue to use it . Easy to use and the convert to chord pro means you can import from anywhere and it sorts all the chords etc out for you !
  • Has been great until the last 12 months

This is a good app however over the last few months I have ‘lost’ hundreds of songs including more importantly my own and the customer service person I dealt with was terrible.
The songs that were on the app just disappeared over night. At one time 150 just vanished. Very unhappy.
  • Cannot remove “C” from the titles in some songs?

I cannot figure out why on some song titles there appears a -C after the song title. How can I make this -C go away? Thank you!
  • Lacks compatibility with desktop app

Lacks compatibility of file naming with the desktop app. For example .cpm or .cho not recognised. Doesn’t import category structure either. Too much manual labour needed for obvious stuff.
