Please Allow Net Carbs

Update: ***** in response to developer answer****

I guess it’s time to find an app that fits my lifestyle and stop paying for this one. I contacted support and was told to come here. I’m not the only keto user who subtracts fiber AND sugar alcohols to get net carbs. There are many others that do the same, because that’s the true net carbs. The way this app is set up, I’ll develop an eating disorder. Not cool. ******

I’ve not been consistently using this app, but I’m trying to get more into it. I’ve recently switched to the Keto plan, but I found tracking to be difficult because the app doesn’t allow net carbs when food items are scanned. Yes, I could calculate it myself and do a manual entry, but that takes time that I don’t always have. It would be super helpful and less frustrating if there were an option added. I.e. when I scan an item with fiber and sugar alcohols, provide an option for me to subtract what I want to subtract so that it fits into my plan and way of eating. Make it flexible, because not all keto people subtract 100%.

SW switch

I have been using this app instead of Slimming World. I manually reduced my bites to 15 and on the pro version you can change your settings to health eating and it tracks fruit and veg, eggs etc as 0 bites so very much works with SW diet.

US-centric measurements

An excellent app that functions well and is a useful Keto-friendly alternative to Weight watchers however its default energy and weight measurements are calories and pounds and ounces: no one outside the US primarily uses these so in a global arena these should be the default settings.

Response from developer

Thanks for your review! This is a US-based app so that is the reason for US-centric measurements 😊 You can switch your measurements for weight by clicking on Profile, ⚙️, and then Settings. Under Units you can tap on Weight and change it to Kg or Stone instead. For food measurements, you can edit a lot of entries to weigh in gram, milligrams, kilograms, etc. instead. Just click on the serving size and/or the 3 dots in the upper right corner of the entry. Disappointed

I’ve had iTrack Bytes ever since Weight Watchers went to Flex Points and I have loved them. They are nice, wonderful, and professional. About a month ago, my app crashed. I deleted and reinstalled it. When I tried to sign in, it did not recognize my email address. I contacted the company and was told possibly it was because I was a beta tester for Apple (I appreciated that information) so I went back to iOS 13.

Then I was told that my email was not in the iTrack Bites system. I gave them every email I have in my name. They checked and can’t find those. *That’s because my account is under the first email address I gave them.

I even gave them the Apple receipt number from when I paid for my subscription and the date I signed up so they could narrow down my account on their end. The said they don’t need that information; it’s not helpful to them.

They said all they can do is send my name to the developer and see if there is anything he can do but it will take “quite some time”.
That was 2 weeks ago. I contacted them last week just checking and they never responded.

I feel like a company should have a better system for when a customer loses their login information. I’ve paid for a year and I’ve been locked out right around a month.

I love this app. All my recipes are in there. I just want back in my account. I still believe the account is under the first email I gave them but their system locked me out somehow. I just want my app back.

Great app

- found when try to create new or alter existing foods sometimes options such as grams not available in conversions. Great way to monitor my food intake. Like bites. Similar to points. So far price off app is cost effective. Thanks

Can’t access app

I’d love to use this app but when you get to the part where you choose your plan you can’t press select because it’s hidden down under your space bar and can’t access a way to get to it! Nice work guys. Such a basic design feature.

Response from developer

Thank Thank you for sharing your feedback and our apologies for the trouble you are experiencing. Please try closing the app out completely (not just pressing or swiping up on the home button) and then try to access the app again. If you're able to do so, you can select your plan by clicking on Profile, ⚙️, and then Weight Loss Plan, followed by clicking on Weight Loss Plan again. Tap on a plan to select it and then click on Save in the upper right corner. If you're still unable to access the app, please email Support at support@itrackbites.com, including any screenshots of the error you are seeing.

After a week...

I’ve been using the free version of this app for a week. I like the choices of programs you get for the free version and the options are decent. It definitely helps me track what I’m eating and how much I’m eating. You can track weigh-ins and exercise, water intake, etc. I do wish the free version had some recipes to view. I would also like to be able to use restaurant entrees for points, but that’s only available on the paid version, which I’m not ready to purchase. If this app works well for me and I notice some weight loss, I’ll consider purchasing for continued use. Not too bad for a free weight loss app! I’ve never used another app or program so this is my first experience and so far, it’s working well for me for tracking my information and food intake.

Great App! Needs more UK options.

I really love this app! It’s a great alternative to (and combination of) features of other programs that I like. Premium is worth it and the price is fair.

The only disadvantage is the small U.K. library. I know these things take time to build. It’d be amazing though if you could, please! Would make a great app perfect. :-)

Thank you for your review! If you're having trouble finding your local foods, you can create a new food so you can have easy access in the future 😊 Click on the green plus button and then Food. Click on the white plus button at the top right. Enter in the name of the food and preferably all the nutritional info (or at least calories, fat, saturated fat, carbs, fiber, sugar, and protein) so if you ever switch plans, your created food will convert to the new one seamlessly. Click on Save. You can find your created food later in My Food.

A bit of a challenge to use in UK - but ok

Only been using this a couple of days and have paid for the ‘pro’ version, but it isn’t very UK friendly for obtaining all the ingredients for recipes- also the brands of foods in the point checker are also American, I haven’t yet found any UK brands, so you have to select as close as you can.
But for the price, it’s worth dealing with that little bit of a challenge

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! If you're having trouble finding your local foods, you can create a new food instead of using the food database. Click on the green plus button and then on the Food icon. Next, click on the white plus button at the top right. Enter in all the details and nutritional info for your food item and then click on Save. When wanting to track the same food again, click on the green plus button, Food, and then either search for it by name in the search box or click on My Food and track it from there. If you have any questions you can reach out in the app Community where you'll find a group of people just like you and our Coaches, who would love to help you out. You can also share your feedback about the inclusion of more UK foods by emailing Support at support@itrackbites.com.
