Fantastic app!

I’ve had every platform of device sold in the last 15 years (yes even Windows Phone) and Pocket Casts has been my podcasting of choice on all of them. Years ago I had paid for the Pro version on a bunch of devices so the Pocket Casts team converted my account to a lifetime member rather than just telling me I need to start paying a monthly fee. A Great app and Great Devs! Cheers Pocket Casts Team!

Love it

I’ve been using this every day of my life for years now. It finally deserves a five star review at the very least.

Simply the best, most versatile and most robust podcast available right now

I’ve been a Pocket Cast user and premium (Lifetime) member from the beginning so I appreciate that the team behind it still recognises our initial contribution to the growth of the app.

Now as a “Champion”, I can say that I have tried other podcasting apps, including the default one for iOS and I keep coming back to Pocket Cast since it’s so ridiculously easy to manage your playlist with features like auto-add as well as other gestures and shortcuts that make listening just really easy.

Keep up the good work, team, and I will continue to be your Champion moving forward.

Best podcast app

Seriously, if you’re looking for a great podcast app, check out Pocket Casts. I’ve been using it for a long time now and not only was it a great app from the beginning, the developers are constantly improving and fine tuning it. 10/10 cannot recommend highly enough.

Prohibitively Expensive

The most expensive premium tier for any podcast app I’ve seen. It has a great interface, fast sync and useful features, and I want to support it by subscribing, but $50 a year is nuts. Why not add a less expensive first tier, maybe with only “Desktop & web apps” + “Folders & Bookmarks,” for something like $10/year? I would have my wallet out immediately.

Could be the best - but filters too limited

This could be the best podcast app out there.

However filters are too limited to be useful. No ability to filter on category/type (ex. News) and yet this would be incredibly useful - ensuring new podcasts of a type are added to a filter list.

Great idea … poor execution.

On the other hand the up next and auto archiving are the best there are.

I've made sure to file a feature request on your behalf for filtering by podcast category. Thanks for the feedback!

Wonderful podcast experience!

Pocketcasts stands out as the daddy of all podcast listeners. The app’s developers have done an exceptional job with constant updates, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience. The attention to detail in the user interface and filters is remarkable, making it a pleasure to navigate and use.

One of the app’s standout features is the variety of ways it allows you to moderate episodes. Whether it’s played, unplayed, past, new release, or up next episodes, Pocketcasts offers numerous options for organizing your podcast collection. This flexibility is perfect for users who want to tailor their listening experience.

The main UI is another highlight, allowing you to organize your podcasts into customizable folders. This feature is incredibly user-friendly and adds a level of organization that many other podcast players lack.

Syncing issues with phone and watch

Unfortunately I've had to stop using the app recently as it would pretty much always not sync correctly.
I listen to podcasts all day every day. I also listen via my watch when I run - nearly every day.
For the last few months when I get back from a run the app has not synced correctly. Pods that I've finished on my watch are shown as unlistened on the phone, and I have to mark them as done.
It became a pain.
I'm now using Overcast which is much better. Possibly not as intuitive to use, but more reliable for my needs.

Please, reach out to us directly from the app the next time this happens so we can help! We would love a chance to correct this sync issue. You can find us at Profile> Help & Feedback> Get in touch

Solid podcast player

Pocket Casts was one of the best podcast apps out there for many years. It still functions very well for power users as well as less frequent listeners. PC is among the best podcast catchers because it offers several logical organizational structures for staying on top of subscriptions. The first being the Home view with a grid of show art—this can be sorted by release date, or custom set by users, and setting podcasts into “folders” let you group by whatever criteria you like. Tapping a show icon brings you to the episode list. There are additionally filter views, in which users can view new releases by episode, view downloaded or partially listened to episodes, and filters can be added to include various shows by whatever topic or criteria users wish to help them dive into episodes (filters are especially useful to power users who may subscribe to hundreds of podcasts). Notifications can be set on a show by show basis. The subscriptions for this app are pricy, but the free version accomplishes most of what’s needed for a podcast player. Apple Podcasts now has full searchable live transcripts of all podcasts, basically the only thing missing from Pocket Casts.

Ugly grid layout

This app is feature-packed, but the aesthetic changes in the latest update are really disappointing. Ugly even. Would be nice to have an option to revert to the previous design.
