Great to play this Mac classic again
... but you can't purchase the extras from the store, like the "Master Chief" mode to access all levels and weapons as the game can't access the App Store. It will be great when this is fixed!moogey
Beautiful story, excellent gameplay
First of all, I'd like to say that I simply adore the HALO/DOOM combination that is this game. The fact that the plot slowly becomes clear as you progress through the game gives you a sense of mystery. The mechanics are amazing and the game, in general, is both fun and challenging. Fantastic except...
I grew up playing the Marathon saga, including the fan games, and played them at least once a year for ten years at least. This series is near and dear to my heart. It still holds up wonderfully and this port is a very good and faithful port. A few of the severely frustrating thing were fixed but there is a massive problem with the phone controls.
They work well enough and after a few levels the "slide to aim" becomes a bit intuitive but you can't look, move and shoot at the same time. That pretty much makes a few segments frustrating beyond all belief and a few of the secrets are now completely unreachable since you can't Grenade Hop.
That's the only thing that made me give it four stars. Otherwise, with the addition of purchasable crosshairs and HD textures (for only $2 for both it's worth it) this is a wonderful download.
I recommend finding a Joypad online and buying it for your phone though.Show lessEnkiLeviathan
Will not work - Entire Marathon Trilogy
Let me start off by saying that I love these games. These ports were also top-notch when they came out a few years ago. However, they will not work on the newest version of iOS. If the developer is still supporting this game, could we get a fix or update that will allow us to play these games on our newer devices?Show lessBigEarl_012

Crashes
Love the original game, and the idea of modifying it for iOS is wonderful, but the game doesn't work on the newest iPhones! Every time I launch the game I select one of the options and it crashes. Fix this please!Terrazzo81
Disappointing
I was hoping to get this game to play on my iPad, but it was way too buggy; I couldn't even load up any of the first levels even for Durandal and Infinity, and even after I closed up my other programs. This needs to change soon if I'm going to be playing this.Kurogane7
Great game but will NOT work on iPhone 6 plus.
I grew up loving this series on PC and when I saw it in the App Store I was thrilled.
On my iPhone 5 it worked perfectly, no bugs or glitches that I could find and gameplay was excellent. However when I upgraded to an iPhone 6 plus the game loads, and after selecting the difficulty the first level begins loading and immediately goes back to the difficulty setting screen before the app crashes and sends me back to my phone's home screen.
