  • Genius!

Yes it's a little clunky, but this is a truly creative app. With a little practice, astonishing results can be had. If you've been desktop designing since you left art college, then get back to basics with this. Highly recommended.
  • It's something different

Pros: it's unique. The type selection is decent. The simulation is fun. Nice sound effects.

Cons: it's just a simulation. You're not going to produce usable art with this. The UI is a bit clunky and inconsistent.

Bottom line: This app is worth it if you have any interest in wood type printing. I could easily give another star or two if future updates tweak the UI a bit and it offered higher resolution image results.

  • Vintage Style

Imagine my own letterpress on the iPad. Having so much fun. It works flawlessly. Takes a little while to get used to but once you do you will enjoy this. Use this app with the sound turned up and you'll feel like your in your own printing shop. Have always enjoyed using letters and numbers for arts sake. This is the sort of thing I imagined having an iPad for. Congratulations for such a great app.

  • Good but...

This is a difficult app to rate as it has the potential to produce some really great results but is quite clumsy and awkward to use. Resizing the letters is particularly difficult, can't get them bigger and then there is no option to resize all the text in a line to the same size. I'm going to keep the app and hope that updates make it easier to use as I think it could produce some striking work.

  • Rubbish

Doesn't fit in with the idea of an iPad- the functions are difficult to find, there is no easy way to correct a mistake (in fact no way at all unless you start again) and a rip off. Save your money.
  • Wonderful

    Really unique great app.
  • Unique and beautiful

A unique and beautiful app that seems so realistic right down to the last detail. Has a bit of a learning curve, but you can get quite creative with it given some time and patience. Can be a little challenging to be very precise - wish there was an easy way to lock elements securely. Lots of fonts, but could use more images or, even better, a way to import an image of your own as a block.

  • perfect!!

one of the best apps i've bought. Great export canvas sizes, the transparent background option is a killer, love the UI.
  • Great fun

I used set type in my dad's newspaper in the 60's and this is as close as I'll ever get again, great.
  • Great Application but needs one thing

I would like to add pics of things that I have carved in lino blocks so that I can make it more personalized. I love this app but want more! I bought this app as soon as I hot an ipad2.
