  • Brilliant

I cannot thank the creator of this app enough - what a sensational way to learn about the art of letterpress. The app is a beautiful mingling of technology and creativity, all wrapped in a gorgeous UI. I'm looking forward to updates for new type and art in later versions, as that will round out the current library nicely. As it is, you will find enough inspiration to keep you going for some time. This is a must-have app for all those detail-oriented creative souls. I'm going to print a trial of an image in the new high-res format onto Strathmore card-stock next week - I'll post progress :).

  • A work of art.

This is a truly beautiful piece of software. I takes the traditional letterpress process and replicates it in wonderful detail. The typefaces are scanned from the actual rare letterpress wood sets that LetterMPress have managed to acquire, through hard work and their dedicated love for the beauty of typography.
They have brilliantly combined a very old traditional process with the cutting edge technology behind the IPad and produced in my opinion a truly ground breaking application.
I think this is the best creative application I have yet seen on the IPad. Worth far far more than its current price for anyone interested in integrating traditional typography into their current design work.

  • Has incredible potential

Immediately after purchasing this application I could tell that it was well worth the money. It's provided me with a new course of exploration with typography. What's great about it is that the export feature is very useful for those of us familiar/trained with the adobe suite. Was able to make sketches with letterMpress then export to photoshop and create some experimental posters.

My only hope is for the developer to support the new iPad and raise the quality of the export feature.

  • Amazing

This is such a fun app to play around with -- much more creative than a game, and much less messy that crafts. Kids love it. I've used it to make photo cards for albums, desktop patterns, all kinds of digital imagery that doesn't look too digital. A special shout out to the developers for consistently adding new fonts and artwork in app updates. I've bought this for both my iPad and my Mac. They are the very model of creative, conscientious developers.

  • My Favorite App Award!

This app is ingenious. It gives you a full sensory, very satisfying experience. Attention to detail is impressive. Being an artist and working between computer and hand generated, this app manages to cross the boundaries of each. I only have to open it up to put a smile on my face. Quality output too; I've used work I've created in this app in my graphic design business. Thank you for cutting edge innovation.

  • Delightful

I'm a graphic designer, trained in that crossover time when we still handled real type in metal and wood, though most of my working life has been on macs.

This app is really magic: Ive done work on this that i really like, and really had fun doing: handling lovely, funky wooden typefaces, which clunk satisyingly onto the metal press: great choice of typefaces; remarkable control over colour, opacity, paper type...
You can do some serious typography on this.

This must have been a labour of love for the people who put it together. A joy to play with: some of the most fun I've had on an iPad. Thanks.

  • Love this

I know that it can be fiddly, and that some things, such as resizing of furniture, are a bit awkward,

That being said, this is a beautiful app that produces stunning results. You can use it to make cards or posters or anything else that your imagination can come up with for that distinctive wooden type letterpress look.

A lot of love has clearly gone into this app, and I think that it's brilliant.

  • Great idea but...

The controls are rather fussy. It's way too easy to knock things out of place, and rather tiring to keep putting everything back in order. The pinch to resize and rotate seems to work at random, which annoys me more than anything with this app.
  • Brilliantly designed App!

Saw this advertised a while go but didn't actually remember to download it until earlier today. It was a bit daunting opening it for the first time and not knowing what to do, however I managed to find my way around the app in about half an hour and have created lots since then. The help guide is very useful if you get stuck - I used it to look up locking and magnetic tools and how to remove a block and had my solution within seconds. You can easily change the modes via the settings menu - Childs play is the easiest setting for beginners - no upside down letters to ponder over.

I've only had this app for half a day, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to create pro looking letterpress posters and documents.

  • Love it

Also have the Mac version but it's great to have this one as well so that I can create on the go as well. Thanks for putting it on sale.
Works wonderfully and the selection of fonts and graphics are pretty extensive. But please don't let that stop you from adding more!
