  • Serious battery drain — please fix

    Line annoys the heck out of me … The stickers are ugly, it’s full of advertising, and I get constant spam from corporations I don’t care about. The photo handling is weird. The settings are confusing and poorly laid out. But the most unforgivable negative is what a massive battery drain it is on my iOS devices. This forces me to manually kill the app whenever I’m done with it. If I forget to do this, I’ll lose at least an additional 5% or so per hour when my iPhone SE gen 2 is otherwise completely idle. And it’s been this way for years and years. Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp don’t have this problem, and frankly it’s embarrassing. Despite all of this, it’s undoubtedly a powerful tool, but I’d much rather use anything else. Unfortunately all of Japan (where I live) uses it so I don’t have much choice. But if you can, stay away.

  • Can’t see my message

    I just download the app and logged into my old account. When my friend send me messages, I can see it on the notification, but it doesn’t show up in app. I also can’t see the group invitation they’ve sent me. Also all my groups disappear after I switch it to my new phone. I’ve uninstall and reinstall the app multiple times, and it is still not fixed. I didn’t back up the chat history, but I don’t mind loading them. The most important thing is that I can’t read and reply to those important message for work because it just doesn’t show up in the app, and I’ve tried switching it back to my old phone. When I switched back to my old phone, the app does show my groups, but I won’t received any message from the group and still can’t read and reply message in the app.

  • Password reset to New Device Disaster

    Have attempted numerous times. The password reset process to add a new device and absolute disaster. Appears they cannot debug this correctly. I have carefully changed the password using their process. Would suggest using any communication software other than Line until they figure this simple process out! I’ve now moved to the other device to check it. Seems apple and line know it’s the same phone number but Line blocking SoFi I got on the new device. Suspect they have a really stupid simple MAC address nanny blocker. Go elsewhere!

    Continues to an absolute F’in Disaster! Cannot imagine how these idiots get ppl to use this piece of crap when a phone is changed. Very circular process of asking for verification, passwords, and the fails to recognize the password newly created on the new device. Just a circular duck up IT stupidity! Untested chit!

  • This app keeps my mom and I connected

    I’ve been wanting to THANK the line developers for years because this app has kept an open line of communication for FREE with my mother and I. Let me preface by saying I live in the USA and my mom has been stuck in Japan for years now. This app has been such a God-send because of the streamline of streamless communication between her and I. In the past, before smart phones existed, my mom and I would have to use long distance calls to talk to each other, which was very expensive and provided an unreliable connection. This app has eliminated the anxiet ways of long-distanced communication. Plus the social features with stickers and walls are a fun way to communicate. The video function works great also.

    Anyways, to the developers of LINE, thank you from the bottom of my heart, truly.

  • Camera filter doesn’t work

    After updated to iOS 15.4.1, I found the filter doesn’t work on video call. Always shows try later.

    Are you seriously kidding me? I was typing in traditional Chinese for my service request and you said “We can’t understand your language as it is not in traditional Chinese or in English? This is so unbelievable and such a unprofessional customer service team
  • Online status

    Dear developer team. It would be realy helpful if you could add the “online” showing status in the app. Really enjoy Line App. I understand that this is a privacy issue but those who does not want it can always switch it off from settings. Now it is like chatting blindly without knowing whether I will get a reply soon or need to wait. Please consider.

  • Great features but 1 huge problem not fixed

    There are many great reasons why I’ve moved a lot of my group messaging over from other apps to line app years ago. we use this for family & business. HOWEVER, after using it for years and having emails/messages back-and-forth with people of Line app, A huge glaring problem is the fact that you cannot delete notes someone else posted. Even if that account is no longer active or even accessible by the person who created the account. It creates a huge headache when you have 100+ people on one line chat and you have to create a brand new one because members have left and you can’t delete old Notes with information that’s no longer relevant. We have even suggested that perhaps they could create an owner, admin, or moderator position for each chat that could at least have the ability to clean up notes. Our primary messaging app was GroupMe and we still use it here and there. Considering moving back.. Group me‘s developers were amazing in how easy it was to contact them and their dialogue for troubleshooting and also brainstorming suggestions that they implemented. That is NOT the case when we have tried to give feedback directly to line app.

  • Nice but lots of problems

    If I have 2 phones and want to log in to a PC and either of the phones it doesn’t work. Only 2 devices work for some strange reason. Data can’t be backed up to a file then reloaded so every time you wipe a PC or get a new phone you lose your data. It also doesn’t tell you what data won’t be synced or backed up. Data doesn’t sync if it’s slightly older that the mystery point. This is terrible. I just want to be able to keep the data and back it up to import everything. The current sync doesn’t sync everything. Just a request but a shareable whiteboard would be a nice feature in group chats. Names can only be 20 characters long. It’s not enough space to write a note next to anyone’s name so we can remember who people are. I now have 3,000 contacts so searches are a tiny but slow as well. These are just a few points. If you could sync data properly and allow an export not just to iCloud but a file it would be great. Text and pics, etc in a zip file maybe or something easy. And also let me log into the PC and 2 of my phones. I can’t have Line on one phone as it always wants to move the data T-T

  • No longer able to log in or sign up

    Text verification is broken. Simply doesn’t work. I have lost all access. Unable to speak to anyone and I have lost a contact now because of it.

    Support say it’s a security issue of too many log in attempts but it’s not. Tried a new SIM card and new phone still no sms or call received even on new account sign up. Tried multiple locations and WiFi networks made no difference. Before I had my issue I had verified only once back in November of this year. Updated to ios15 and tried to log in as normal and no sms received. Ruled out ios15 as my other phone I kept on ios14 with a new sim to test it. Joke of an app. Joke of support.

    Something dodgy going on here with this app I reckon if support are turning a blind eye to it all. To be clear, as far I can I tell from my testing ANYONE who logs out (assuming 2 months ago you got it to work) will be unable to log in again with a phone number and anybody, certainly a UK number, can’t even signup now as the SMS text verification is not received. Friends having exact same issue.

    Apple should be all over this and pulling this app from the store until the quality issues are resolved.
