Miserably tedious
If you enjoy threading needles with frayed thread, then this is the game for you. Spend hours doing the same task again and again, because you have to start over from scratch every time something goes wrong. Some of the bad levels can be skipped by just going straight for the exit, but the worst ones cannot. The most annoying part of all is the buggy land-moving that you usually have to do to get the guy started. Half of the time you end up stuck against the wall or rolling off the wrong way (why is this ever even possible), seemingly at random. The ground doesn't actually seem to respond where you touch it. Good game but presentation a little bit contrived
Given four stars... This is clearly a very good game, but for me the it was often a bit contrived... A bit 'alternative by numbers': as an example, a continual annoyance for me was how obviously the soundtrack was copied from yann tiersen's sound track to amelie... Its not just similar/inspired, its literally the minimal changes to avoid copyright. The game making process has obviously involved a lot of thought and drawn on much inspiration, but this ultimately leaves it rather empty... One cannot feel the personalities of designers, programmers etc here but a very calculated strategy to make a crtically acclaimed game. That said this is mostly succesful, and has produced a good game so four out of fiveShow lessfolkyphil

Endearing, enjoyable
I'm sure it's not for everyone, but clearly this game appeals to a lot of people, myself included. It's a unique experience inside of which you easily become immersed. Odd as it sounds, the little eyeball character has an endearing personality that grows on you as you guide it through the physics puzzles.
The pictures and descriptions on the App Store really don't do this game justice. Make no mistake, this is a cerebral game that runs at an easy pace. It's not a shoot 'em up style game. If you're OK with that, I don't think you'll find a more unique experience than Contre Jour.Show lessrdelrossi

Original Review: Brilliant concept, and great artwork. I took one star off, because the achievements for the first chapter don't unlock.
After Update: Still a great game, but fix the rotatable fuzzy things with springs on them. As soon as you take your finger off the screen, the fuzzy thing rotates and screws up your shot. I've waited ages for the latest level pack, and it's ruined the game for me.Show lessSk37cH

An Exception to the Rule!!
I am not a "gamer," nor do I like 95% of the ones that are out there. There are several that are, in my opinion, okay - but none of which I can justify spending even a few dollars for, or more importantly - wasting my valuable time playing. On top of that - I just don't have the desire, nor the time, to sit around and play games on my iPhone. I already lose enough of my time just listening to music, texting or screwing around with all of the other millions of mind-sucking apps out there. HOWEVER, THIS FUN & INCREDIBLY ADDICTING LITTLE GAME IS ONE EXCEPTION THAT I AM MORE THAN WILLING TO MAKE! I absolutely love it and can't stop playing it! On top of it, the soundtrack is so enchanting, and such a great stress-reliever, that it is borderline therapeutic!
