An app that didn't forget Canadians

Very nice app. Can't think of what else you need. Has search function and well planned categories. Missing the odd restaurant but have another app that covers those so am very happy. Will probably pay to lose the ads, not because they're intrusive but just to support the developer.

Very helpful

I used to carry the handbook of Calorie King that weighed down my purse, but now I have this amazing alternative. Really handy to pick a great option where I know the carbs to give myself enough insulin. Only issue is that there are more American than Canadian food brands included.

Not what I was looking for

Will be uninstalling it

Great App - but lacking for CK members

This is a fabulous app for looking up nutritional info; the database is kept up to date, and I always find what I'm looking for. However, as a CK member for over 8 years, I wish they would incorporate the member features (ie: food diary, weight, exercise, charts, etc) as their mobile site is lacking. I would love to see member features incorporated in the near future for all their loyal paying members.

Comprehensive & easy to use

I have quickly found any food in which I was interested (including specific items at most (all?) Canadian chains that I can recall). One search method, by retailer, actually serves me as a "menu" in that I can quickly compare alternatives. Browsing the retailer view at Red Lobster gave me lower calorie options that I hadn't previously considered. I am going to use that view from now on when my buds want to go to a particular chain (e.g. Tim Horton's).
Not every beer I like is included, but that is the only shortfall do far.
I would give it 5 stars except that the built in calculator obscures some of the dietary info when converting from data base volumes (e.g. When converting dietary info of 12 fluid oz bottle to 310 ml bottle of beer, only the calories are visible). It is not a tracker/log, but it does not pretend to be one. Overall, a great source of info, IMO.

Very useful

My son has Type 1 Diabetes and this app is very helpful in calculating carbs for a meal. I didn't notice at first that you could calculate carbs by the gram or ounce. We have the CalorieKing book, and the app seems to have more items than the book. It's much faster than looking things up in the book. I would add a "meal counter", where you could look something up, then add it to a tally to add up the carbs (or calories, etc.) for a whole meal. As it is I have to write down each item in a meal, then add them up manually. Also, it would be nice to be able to save favourites, or have it show recent searches.

Not a daily logger

I had Calorie King on my Palm device and used it faithfully. I was so glad when I found Calorie King had an App. I wanted to be able to log what I consummed daily. This does NOT do this. It is simply a nutrtional reference. You can get nutritional info from other free Apps. Will keep waiting for Calorie King to come up with a daily consumption logger.

Disappointed

I love the CK database and I've been using it for years. I was really excited to see the app because I thought I would be able to use it to log my calories. It would have been better than the mobile site who ' s not really user friendly. I'll still give 3 stars for the database.

Great App!

Found this app to be very helpful when I just want to know what calories are in a particular food item without having to log in a meal, unlike some other apps out there.

Thank you

My daughter has Juvenile Diabetes and this app has been a great help for counting carbohydrates
