This release adds Lights, Shapes and Sounds for the US Inland Rules, and the ability to change between different rule sets. Currently we support International (ColRegs), US Inland and Australian rule sets - the International rules are applicable for most countries. Searching and browsing is now restricted to the chosen rule set. For instance, when ColRegs are selected then a search will not return results for a configuration specific to US Inland. We have also started adding features to allow users of the app to provide input into the completeness and accuracy of the data. The first two features added are: the ability to link to either our website or Facebook page to leave a comment or suggestion; and the ability to send us an email directly from the search screen when a light/shape/sound configuration is not found. The detailed changes in this release are: - Added support for US Inland light, shapes and sounds. - Rule sets: added the ability to search and browse based on different rule sets. This feature introduces the ability to set the app to work with a set of rules for a specific country or jurisdiction. Initially the app has 3 rule sets configured: International (ColRegs, which it already had); Australian (ColRegs + Local additions); and USA Inland. New rule sets can now be easily added into future releases. - Rules as hypertext (HTML). Previously, rules were shown as simple text. This feature provides a foundation to update the rules to include: formatting; graphics; and hyperlinks between the rules. This is like having the rules as a mini website inside the app. - An index menu to allow quick navigation between rules. - A prompt to review the app, with the ability to disable/enable the prompt through the device's Settings app. - Ability to submit by email any searches that did not find a match in the database. This feature can be disabled/enabled to suit the user's personal preferences. - Fixed some minor errors in a number of images. - Disabled View Rule when no matches found. - Fixed an issue with changes to device orientation not being handled correctly on the iPad. - A number of minor issues were also fixed. - A number of minor adjustments were made to the user interface.

  • Good app

The browse section works well and the ability to change to different rules is great. Also being able to see the actual rule is great. Definitely worth the 4 bucks.
  • Classroom worthy

As a maritime instructor, I project this app on to the wall and use it as a training aid, students love it!
