Excellent and essential app for campervan travels!

I traveled for one month around NZ and campermate was a lifesaver! I used it to locate free campgrounds, toilets, petrol stations, dump stations, fresh water and hot showers. You can read previous reviews from other travelers about each place. If you are gonna travel with a campervan, having this app is a must! Absolutely amazing, thanks to all the team for this excellent job! :)

Just what I was looking for

Australia is known as one of the best countries to go camping. One can even hear that all the way in Argentina, where I came from.
Basically this app gives you all the information, in the easiest possible way, of every campground around Australia. You can even search them with specific filters (place, price, accomodations, etc).
In other words, is just what I needed.

The best app for camping

CamperMate is our GO TO app when we want to know where to camp or view POIs around an area.

It’s so great!!!!! It gives you a great overview of locations of campsites, public toilets, caravan parks, parks, tourist sites, etc, so much more (POIs a plenty).

When you click on the site you can see photos, read a description of what is at the site (facilities), price, phone numbers, location, directions in google maps. There is also a comments section for people to right a comment about the POI.

We’ve been using it for a few years now. It’s FREE and we’ll worth having.

Fantastic - makes travelling super easy

Easy to use and perfect for finding all travel needs from toilet stops to overnight stays. Comments from users v useful.

Good app but...

I’ve used the app for a few years now and have found it very good for finding places in your area. But I am a bit sceptical about how impartial the reviews are. I’ve submitted good and not so good reviews (if appropriate) but it seems that only my good ones are published. When I make a statement that a camp site has problems, it never gets published. Makes me doubt the other ratings in this app, and that the comments are actually an impartial representation of the camp site.

Not compatible with iPad

I have been unable to get past the startup screen after opening the app on my iPhone, which is pretty disappointing given how everyone raves about it. All I can do is scroll across ‘info’, ‘disclaimer’ and ‘copyright’ with no way to move forward (the ‘next’ button doesn’t appear). I can’t even click on ‘something wrong’ to let the developers know that something is wrong! I was able to open the app on my iPhone but it is extremely slow and clunky. I’ll give it another try on my iPad in a few weeks to see if they’ve fixed the bug and update my review if it has, otherwise I’ll just be sticking to WikiCamps.

Corruption app

This app shows only the place that the gouvernement want you to stay! I had a bad experience in one campsite : I wrote a comment and they NEVER put my comment .. I did 4 times again and still nothing.. another situation : I discovered a new free campsite in Rotorua and a added it in CamperMate: result : nothing on the app , even i did 3 times ..I don’t recommend this application, you need to read the council district law about freedom camping . And you don’t need to be self contained like the app said .. very bad experience from this app .. some other are better than CamperMate
