  • Do not buy if using wifi scanner!!!!

    At one point in time, this was one of the best and trouble free programs for scanning and coding bmws. Unfortunately they have progressively made the payment model more expensive, which is bad enough but now the app simply won’t work with my Carley wifi scanner.

    This is because after you scan the car for error codes it just sits at 100% and pops up with an error message saying it can’t connect to the smart mechanic. This is because when using a wifi adapter, it has no way to connect to the internet, and therefore can’t complete the scan. The smart mechanic seems like a good feature except they made it required to be connected to internet which is impossible with a wifi obd2 connector.

    It’s truley unfortunate as this was the best bmw scanner at one point in time, simply a waste of $170 dollars after tax

  • Useless and essentially a scam

    I’m sure that this ‘tool’ is good for some people but the fact u have to pay the YEARLY subscription to even do a simple task such as clear codes??? Even a £5 OBD scanner does that for most vehicles. And this is £70 for the scanner and then a further yearly subscription depending on if u choose ure own model car or all models. All u can do without a subscription is scan and list codes, everything is hidden behind a paywall. Really terrible practice from Carly. At least allow the most basic function of an obd2 scanner to clear codes. Furthermore I have several friends whose faults didn’t show up in Carly. So avoid this scanner. Seems it can’t reach all the control units. A shame really.

  • Scam stay away

    This website never mentions that there is yearly subscription. I called Visa and put a stop payment to this scam. I sent them screenshots of the website where it never mentions a subscription.

  • Scanner breaks

    This is the second scanner that stopped working. The first time i had to prove i purchased it with the original receipt and pictures of the scanner hooked to my car. Now you cant even navigate to a contact page to get the 100% gaurantee replacement.. i used to like this app when i bought it but when i cancelled the subscription and they found my paypal and charged me on some websure site i knew they were trouble.. so since November of 23 they charged me for a subscription that i cant use and cant get a new scanner to use it if i wanted to.. so with this being said i now will re write this every month. That this keeps happening .. either refund my money or send me a scanner to use this subscription. Which only works on bmw so getting the all cars upgrade is a waste it dont work ..

  • Subscription Costs Too Much

    The app itself is good, and there are plenty of fun little tweaks you can make to your car. However, let’s be real—most of us won’t need to use an OBD scanner more than 2-3 times a year to read a fault. I paid a lot of money to have access to all car brands, smart mechanic features, and so on. A fault has actually appeared on my car; however, a year has passed, and the scanner is completely useless to me unless I pay for the yearly subscription again. For over £100, I would rather go and buy a wired scanner for a fraction of the price. I don’t think it’s fair to charge a subscription to read a fault when all other scanners do this for free.

  • Charged me for another package and wont refund !

    I hold the ‘all brands’. Logged onto my account to scan a FORD. It said i didn't have the correct package?! promoted me to pay £60 which i did. I have asked for a refund as i already had the ‘all brands package’??. They have only offered a 50% refund which i do not agree with. Taken my money for something i do not need. I find the support system poor.
    Also didnt work on my ALFA ROMEO! (Refunded 25%)
    Its a shame as i have been loyal customer for a long time now and would have recommended them before but feel cheated out of money and its the principle that i do not need an individual ‘FORD’ package when i have the all brands and will not rectify the issue!

  • Too Expensive and Didnt fix LED angel eye conversion

    Not worth it-Subscription based model and it didn’t do the one thing I bought it for, clearing the codes for the LED Angel eyes conversion. The live data values are not accurate, and the time it takes to read the codes and then clear the codes is extremely slow, roughy 10 mins each function. Carly had me work with their developers to fix the issues but it didn’t fix the live values discrepancies or the LED conversion errors.

    There are better solutions out in the App Store that are not subscription based, that fixed the angel eyes, reads and clears the codes in 1-2 mins, and have additional features like coding the battery and controlling the exhaust flap for example, and is less expensive

  • Useless.

    I have a Carly device less than a year old and paid for full access. The device interacts properly with my BMW but will not do anything with the Mitsubishi or Toyota which are newer cars. No help from the developer despite multiple requests. Would never pay again. And Tony even try to return it or get a refund. They won’t respond.

  • Slow and Poor customer service

    Product and features are strong. Think subscription and pricing are confusing and deceptive. Should offer lifetime license. Very slow and poor customer service. Told in December 2022 that BMW full license had been renewed until November 2023. App worked fine beginning of January, then next time opened and did car scan showed full license as locked. Now been simply trying to get customer service to unlock my full license subscription for several days. This shouldn't be this much trouble!

    Application no longer clears fault codes previous able to clear. Too expensive for value derived.

    Requested refund and 3 days later no response.

  • It’s a mixed bag

    We have a number of cars thanks to kids on p-plates. Carly works very on our BMW E90. It provides limited diagnosis and coding on our BMW G20, even less on our Range Rover Sport L320. We also have a 2002 Volvo C70 T5. And whilst it connects to the car, it can’t read anything of any use. 3/5. I am in indifferent but did expect more based on the advertising.

    Let me add this. As soon as you lean in with support, they come back to you with this message “ I would like to point out that insults, a disrespectful tone of voice or any sort of improper behaviour towards Carly’s employees or the company in general will lead to the support access suspension. Consequently, you won’t be able to receive Carly support anymore.”

    Avoid these idiots at all costs.
