Leave a Review Bandsintown Concerts
Bandsintown
I’m a new user but based on what I’ve seen so far this app is a must have for music loving concert goers. I’ve been frustrated by missing so many concerts. I’d go to look see what’s going on, and for instance… I find out Metallica played in my area just yesterday. I was just thinking this week man it’d be awesome to see them in concert. Despite trying to set up my ticket master to notify me of such opportunities. I missed another great one. This app linked to my music library so no trying to remember a thousand bands and type them all in. I should start getting notifications concerning big shows, hopefully with a week+ to plan. Fingers crossed. I give it four stars because I haven’t had time to know it should be 5 or 2 yet.Show lessIt’s A Total Assistant
Bandsintown provides details and features I’ve not noticed in other apps. I’m able to get who and when, of course, but I’m able to see more than that on Bandsintown. It’s so great to view the seating at the venue. I enjoying listening to the artist’s music samples, or sending them a request to visit my town. The option to update my calendar is seamless - a favorite thing! Artists tours info, ticket purchases, sound bits, directions, and more are helpful uses for most audiences. I guess I could recommend an option to listen to an artist on their latest podcast interviews. I appreciate Bandsintown as is.Show lessConcert Notifications So Last Minute They Are Often Useless
The theory behind this app, providing you with notifications of your favorite musical performers coming to town is an excellent idea, but in practice, this app falls very short very frequently.
For instance, today I got a notification that the Rolling Stones will be playing in my area. How much notification did I get? About 30 hours before the start of the concert. This is typical, with many shows that would’ve been of interest being impossible to attend because the cruddy app doesn’t notify of the shows within time to purchase tickets. Or within time to incorporate the show into one’s schedule.
I would say for at least 50% to 60% of the bands on my favorites list, that I entered into the app, I got less than 48 hours, sometimes less than 24 hours notice of the concert (or, not infrequently, no notice at all). If tickets for a concert will be in high demand, the app often does not give sufficient notice, even when it does provide more than a week or two of notice, to buy the tickets before they sell out.
The only reason I rated the app 2/5-stars instead of 1/5-stars is that it occasionally works as intended. I’ve had decent advanced notice of a few concerts that I would not have learned of otherwise.Show lessDeveloper Response
