I’ve attempted to use this app 6 times now as a tourist. Twice the driver failed to show up and appears stopped along the way. Once, the driver didn’t show up but started the ride anyway. Obvious scam. Once, I waited several minutes, driver was coming, then he texted me in Serbian asking ME to cancel. Twice it worked, though one of those times I had to go find the car on another street. The app itself is lame and isn’t gps accurate like U in connecting you with the driver. It also doesn’t translate driver messages into your language. And setting it to English is difficult unless you read Serbian. My impression is that the drivers use Yandex as a last resort, ie when there’s not another fare at the time. And they are quick to abandon Yandex when something better comes along,even if that’s on the way to get you. I will say, they responded fairly quickly with a refund with the driver that scammed me.

Helpful driver
This driver went out of his way to carry my baggage to the door and correct some problem with my Yandex application. He asked me if I was comfortable in the car and the car was nice.
Wrong pick up location - always
The app constantly shows wrong pick up location. Because of that, I need to request another ride. And the app charges me 60-90 rubles each time when I cancel the ride with wrong pick up location! I think Yandex should have a better GPS system in Russian cities outside of Moscow.
Drivers took cash and card
We ordered a few times didn’t realize that there wasn’t a cash option. We just realized that we have been giving cash to the delivery guys who didn’t tell us “no we don’t accept cash”. They just took the money and we were charged by card as well. Customer service is doing nothing about it. Says “maybe they thought it was a tip”. A tip more than the price of the actual food.

Works better than local taxi services
As the title says - the app is better and more reliable than local (Belgrade) taxi services, but occasionally the driver and the vehicle does not match the assigned driver information.
Also new glassified icon is terrible :(

Takes drivers and riders in wrong directions
Useless navigation system that doesn’t work properly in smaller cities across Uzbekistan. Looks like no market optimization has been done. Creates friction between drivers and riders because it takes drivers in wrong directions. Furthermore the app itself positions you in wrong place for a pickup. It’s confusing to use, and has poor UX. Finally, not being able to pay with a card totally defeats the purpose of such apps.

Always late never on time
The yandex taxi app cannot calculate time if it’s life depended on it…
If it says your driver will arrive in 4 minutes, expect to wait 8 to 12 minutes.
You can’t rely on this ride share service to be on time so just remember to always book it 20 minutes in advance of or anticipated leave time.

Extremely helpful when visiting Armenia!
Unfortunately we do it speak Armenian or Russian. It has been easy to get taxis and get to exactly where we want to go without communication problems. Taxi’s come right away and we know how much it will cost. Often taxi drivers soliciting our business on the street as for five times the fare.
Bad Drivers 80% of the time
Cashless payments are a big no no especially for morning rides. However, if you agree to pay cash they round the numbers and request more money. I reported this multiple times but it never got better. I wonder how these drivers are being chosen. Especially, if you are a tourist use gg instead. They are waaaay better. Never had a bad experience with them.
