Best for NYT and others
Across Lite does a good job of moving the focus to a grid entry you might want to fill next after you enter something. It's as good as it gets, far better than the app the NYT licensed. Open your puzzle from its source, not from the app, for an easier experience. Once in the app, you can have hundreds of saved puzzles and it works perfectly.

Great App!
Best app for completing crosswords. Lots of puzzles available, free or paid.
Not too hard or easy
Stable and nice interface
Great App
Highly recommended.
Works just fine
I haven’t used this app for a while, but my favourite site for sourcing puzzles suddenly went wonky today, so I downloaded it again. I remember it from my earlier solving days as user-friendly and fun. It still works that way on my iPad. Pleased to be reunited with the “Happy Pencil”, one of the enduring icons of Crosslandia. Thanks for being there when I needed you.

Across Lite 4.1.1 sucks
Across Lite 4.1.1 is an upgrade that doesn't work on older Ipads ie Pre Covid-19 versions. I thought I could clam myself with this app but the lite has gone out. Thanks IT crowd.
Stopped working
One of my favourite apps but it doesn't work on my older iPad anymore. I was using 4.1 and it stopped working with 4.1.1. Now installed 4.1.2 (supposed to be the same as 4.1) but it crashes after loading the opening page. I have tried everything I can think of, including uninstalling completely and rebooting the iPad. The app still crashes after opening page loads.

Very addictive
Once I became used to its idiosyncrasies, I enjoyed this very much. It took me a while to work out how to check whether my answers were correct. I would prefer it not to make a noise when I put in a wrong letter, and even turned the volume right down but it seemed to make no difference. On a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being the highest, I give it a 9.

The Best Crossword App
This is by far the best app for crossword lovers.
So far so good
Purchased the Across Lite app for puzzles I can actually finish. They could be a tiny bit more difficult but otherwise happy.
