  • Waste of time

All fake accounts. Showing different location than they are.
  • Not enough people

I downloaded and liked the app for about an hour. After paying for one month premium suddenly there hasn’t been a single person in my radius for the last 12 hours. Additionally, prior to the complete disappearance of all matches the app decided to cycle through the apps entire catalog of female members. As a man seeking men I can attest that your algorithm is not providing useful matches. I live in NYC so there is no shortage of people in the area. Rather, there are not enough people willing to stay on this platform. Don’t waste your money.

  • Fake profiles and low engagement

App’s concept is great, however in one night I matched with 8 fake accounts, half with the same photos. Many users are not active or active enough to engage with. Boost only increased my scammer matches, not real matches. Premium did nothing either. As a note, I am successful on other apps, so I feel this is an app specific issue, not me being unmatchable.

If the developer put effort to reduce fake accounts (preventing users who don’t show location in which you passed from contacting, photo verification, etc) and keep users engaged, I’d give it a shot again.

  • Violation of privacy, and ruin your chances in meeting local people

The app is interesting and works fine at the first glance, but the crush game is super annoying, the app will list 4 pictures and ask you to play and try to guess who has crush on you, you will later realise that every picture you chose was notified that you had a crush on them! You didn’t even see their profile but they’ll be informed that you have a crush on them! I delete them because I never like guys profiles on dating apps, so the end result is: they are local to my area, who saw my profile, and now think I am not interested in them because I deleted them on this app, when the reality is I didn’t see their profile and I don’t take initiative in dating and it’s my choice, sending likes on my behalf is a violation of my privacy!!! This is scam! Attracting other people to buy memberships by giving them false information!
I am no longer interested in buying membership either, although I was willing to, because I don’t believe the many hidden profiles are really interested in my profile, they might have been playing that game!!!

and you can’t see the membership options, the page appears as if it is downloading but it stays empty, but I am glad now it didn’t appear, I wouldn’t buy it now knowing what I know!

It is a shame, the idea is very interesting but the application is disappointing!

    Developer Response

Hello Nora, I’m sorry you didn’t like CrushTime, it is the feature our users generally like the most! It is no scam, the way it works is explained at length in our FAQ. What makes you think we attract other people to buy memberships by giving them false information? All we do is disclose real information; we try to be as transparent as possible and don’t want our users to feel like we give them incorrect information. I suggest you contact our Customer Service for more information and to avoid any misunderstanding. Yours truly, Bruno from happn.
  • Escorts and Prostitution disguised in a dating app

The vast majority of the women on here aren’t in the location it says they are. I’m fact they’ll always ask you were are you located first then say they are too. Many times I’ve made up random cities that I’ve never been to and they say they’re there as well. Always wanting to move a conversation to WhatsApp or Snapchat. Did you know that that majority of the fake profiles are created by men in other countries merely trying to get you to let down your guard and send them money via Cashapp or other electronic payment apps. Sad that these dating apps allow this behavior and do not monitor the people. If they’re caught ban them by banning their email or phone number from creating a new profile.

  • Fake profiles

Pretty much all profiles here are fake.
  • So many Scammers

I used this app in 2016 and met a great guyI dated for awhile, but just got back on in 2021, and it’s changed a LOT. Now it’s full of international scammers! Every 3rd profile or so that I chatted with was a scammer. I believe they can now use VPNs to lie about their location. This app is a total waste. Be very diligent with who you meet on here: always reverse search an image and ask them questions about local places that it’s hard to Google (they know how to Google!) Id give this app zero stars in 2021 if I could.
NOTE: I report every single scammer, yet Happn let’s them get back on using the same photo with a different name. Do better, Happn!!

  • Scam app

Seems to be a scam app, doxing it’s users and making them pay with fake profiles.

Weird ads popping all the time. Entices users to subscribe and pay money by making them think they are having unread messages. Been on the site a couple of weeks and no one contacted me, except fake profiles/useless notifications saying I have to pay to see people/robots/fake profiles who supposedly like me.

  • App keeps crashing

It’s super annoying.. the app keeps crashing on iOS 14. I no longer want to use the app but I can’t delete my profile as i can’t even open the app.. now data will be with happn forever!

    Developer Response

Hey Prudvinath, all you have to do in order to permanently delete your app + data is go to “App settings” > “My data” > “Delete my account”. Be safe, Bruno from happn.
  • Mostly fake

It’s a novel idea, but there are many profiles that are talking to me from china and they always want me to switch to another app or they want my email or phone number, so they are probably gps spoofing. Another type of fake is they will say a lot of really nice ambiguous things for the first day, then respond once per day after that with just one or two words. I think this type is actually some form of bot by the developer. I flag between 5 or 10 profiles per day but i don’t know what happens to them after that. Another type of obvious fake is the wording of the profile is always EXACTLY the same as others, and they usually reference sex or cheating in the description. I don’t see how they are missing these.
