  • Can’t get around the App

    Very iPhone 1
  • They have stolen my money for the last time.

    So, there is no way to contact Kit around unless you book a car with them. Unfortunately, I am not ever renting with them again. I am owed a refund form a month ago. For whatever reason they claim they sent it to a bank account “they had on file” the only problem is that card is on file from their OLD APP and I haven’t had access to that account in 4 years. Their customer service then spoke to me like I was stupid when I told them I didn’t have a card ending in xx. Meanwhile neither card I used on my rental (original rental or extension) have been sent a dime. I also contacted the bank they claimed they went it to and they said I have zero account activity since 2020. So not only are they irresponsible and unprofessional, they’re thieves. Don’t use this app.

  • Agréablement surpris.

    Ça fait déjà plusieurs locations que je fais avec ma voiture, je dois dire que je suis agréablement surpris par la qualité de cette application, mais aussi que tout se passe exactement comme décrit sur l’app.

    Don’t rent from this company. They take your money instead of holding it, so when there’s a problem and you can’t get the car it takes almost a week to get it back. They tried to give me a partial refund even though it was their fault I wasn’t able to rent with them. When I was finally able to get a vehicle the exterior was very damaged, the seat was broken, the a/c was broken, and the drive was shaky. (They don’t let you switch cars once you get it. )They said they would refund any excess gas you put in at $4 and change per gallon and they didn’t. They are an older company but they operate like they’ve only been in business for 3 months. They don’t know if the car is available or not they just keep renting out the cars and taking people’s money. I don’t think I need to say this, but they have horrible customer service as well. Don’t rent from them!

  • Will never use this app again

    I tried to rent a car on this app. I spent over $500 and they canceled my car 20 min before I was supposed to pick it up, and not only have they not reimbursed me they won’t give me a credit to rent another car and I have no idea when I’m getting my money back. The app says if you cancel within 24 hrs you get your $ back, nothing about them canceling on you last min. Can I charge them a late fee? And there is no number to call, I have no idea who I can talk to. I’m about to call my bank and have the charge reversed. I’ve used Hyre before and didn’t have a great experience but they at least had a customer service line. Whoever designed this app should be fired. It’s so hard to figure out, I click on something and it just gives me an article. Oh and these cars are way overpriced! $60 for a 2016 Prius not including fees and insurance.
    Crazy! do not use this app is my suggestion!

  • Going downhill fast…

    I used to be a frequent user of GetAround and had fairly positive experiences with the app, customer support, and fair pricing. I’ve noticed since switching to a new app/interface, there are tons of frustrating glitches. The app no longer shows an address or exactly where the car is parked, so it becomes a bit of a scavenger hunt. They say they will refund you six dollars and then some if you happen to refuel more than what was initially in the car, but they actually don’t. They will give you credit towards your next rental, and only if you email them to initiate it. I’ve had issues with **every ride i’ve taken** since they rolled out the new app. Difficulty finding the cars, the start rental or end rental being incredibly glitchy, and eventually having to contact support just to end the rental. And costs have gone up… They’ll advertise $42/day rental to then pay $70 for 8 hours… very misleading and disappointing. I’ll be looking for an alternative to GetAround going forward. ✌️

  • This company is getting shady.

    I want to share my experience with Getaround Rent-A-Car. Initially, they had extremely high booking fees, sometimes as much as 50% of the total rental cost, with no alternative booking options. While they have since removed these exorbitant booking fees, other issues persist. One major concern is their rental insurance fees. I understand that car rentals are more expensive on weekends, but adding a 60% insurance increase on top of that is ridiculous. Additionally, there's a $50 deposit, which I have never seen refunded. In contrast, I recently rented a car from Hertz, located in the same parking garage as Getaround, for a weekend (Thursday to Tuesday). The cost was comparable to a six-hour rental on a Saturday with Getaround, but the insurance was only $12 a day, and the deposit was returned within three business days. Considering the high costs and unreliable service with Getaround, it’s becoming increasingly frustrating. Not only are you not guaranteed a clean or well-maintained car, but there's also no assurance that a replacement will be available if needed. Nowadays, I only use Getaround if I need a car by the hour for an emergency or last-minute situation. This review is not intended to bash Getaround, but to highlight the changes and ongoing issues with their service. Getaround needs to address these concerns if they want to retain customers.

    Getaround, une entreprise à fuir. Ils m'ont prélevé 500 € plus 40 € de frais de dossier pour une petite rayure qui était déjà présente sur les photos avant la location. Cependant, comme je ne l'ai pas déclarée dans les sinistres présents sur le véhicule, ils en ont profité. En réalité, ils passent leur temps à chercher les oublis des clients pour faire de l'argent sur leur dos. À éviter, ce sont des voleurs.

  • Don’t expect your security deposit back

    Time and time again, I have paid for a security deposit. It is clearly deducted from my checking balance. Then when time passes, it is removed from statements but never added and reflected in my checking account. So the charge is non traceable, like it never occurred, never to be returned . Also, recently I adjusted my pick up time. I used my other debit card to make the $54 difference. They declined my card, left a pending charge that was never removed, and withdrew my money from my other bank card. So I was charged $108 just to pick up my vehicle 5 hours early . After weeks of this not being corrected, I contacted my bank, and they had the double charge revoked. Now Getaround has blocked my access to renting other cars in the future . I’ve spent 1,000s on multiple vehicles with this company. With their service, booking fees, and deposits that are never returned in full on my bank account , I find myself losing money instead of gaining trying to work for Uber and Lyft. So not worth it.
