Amazingly surprising
I bought this app on strength of the reviews. Well, basically it is rings with notes that you press and they make a sound. The spin off is that when you move to the side the pitch changes slightly which emulates vibrato effect. That's all. There's apps that give gazillions more control and sonic power but no, spend your money here! Not

Expressive, configurable, unique... buy it or lose a big slice of legit expressiveness.
One of the best pieces of music software for this device. This is a great step forwards for iPad musicians. I look forward to the future of micro tonality within all of our scale locked pitch perfect precision. Please don't stop developing this Bastus. I don't believe in withholding stars from reviews in order to obtain future benefits, this fully deserves six stars. MIDI works so well with Sunrizer and addictive synth! Why not have control surfaces for the modulation wheels, since you have custom layouts anyway? Please look at adding the pitch bender and the modulation wheels at the very least, because I love the expressiveness of Orphion but I can't give those up. I think most people feel the same. I also think that you should have a bank of Orphion specific voices, those like maybe Koto and Shamisen, Lute and or the above synth's used to highlight the soft sensitive touches of Orphion specificallyShow lessThe.Adam
One of the best music apps
This is the kind of app ipad musicians drool over (although try to avoid this, as spit is one of the few ways you can't control orphion). It's a beautiful, simple design but offers a truly creative way to express yourself musically. Buy it!Pianoyan

Orphion is expressive
I am professional drummer and percussionist and spent a lot of time looking for apps in the App Store that I could use as part of my arsenal as a live performer. I also wanted the ability to play melodically as well. With Orphion I found a very unique app that allows me to use my abilities as a percussionist to create interesting rhythmic and melodic parts that I can use while performing. With the introduction of Audiobus to the IOS platform, Orphion can also be used to blend multiple apps together using it as a controller as well.
I also wanted to note that the support for this app is quick and responsive. I have spoken to the developer many times with questions and requests and he always gets back to me in a timely manner.
I highly recommend Orphion to anyone who likes to play things percussively and melodically it's a very unique blend of the two styles.Show lessDrenix53

I liked this app so much and one day while updating some apps I pushed update on this app without knowing about the Apple forced change. It's been hard to make it work since. I was able to make so many more sounds before especially with the fatness of the thumb vs. the finger. I am sorry to say this went from a magical app to just ordinary noise maker, may sound harsh but it's the truth. Old version got 5 stars.Show lessTrauken
Not what I thought
Bought this on impulse, then wished I hadn't. Maybe it's just me, but I found control and response to be lacking, a d the sounds produced not good.
