  • Just ok.

Doesn't appear to work via an iOS managed VPN.

Sure, you could use QNAP cloud services.

Functionality is pretty basic. For both these reasons I find myself using the web interface instead.
  • Simply Brilliant

If you are running any QNAP NAS powered by QTS 4.2 or later, then you should consider this a must-have app. Written by QNAP, this gives complete insight into the operational performance of your NAS. Pretty much any attribute you can check on via the web admin panels are available to you here, all from the convenience of your iOS device. Even better, if you have configured your systems to use SMTP to send you updates, then you can pick up an alert and check it out, all from your iPad or iPhone. Fabulous.

  • Dashboard, not a manager

You can do only basic "turn service on/off" things, monitor the system status and access logs. And it does things very well. But to actually manage and configure the NAS you need the full web app, which doesn't work well at all on smaller screens such as the iPad mini.

So, remote management from the iPad mini is not supported, which is a shame.

  • Very nice

Very nice app, well designed, lots of info (very similar to what you get on the main NAS interface and in the apps), and the ability to configure a lot of things remotely.

Unlike a lot of the other QNAP software and apps (particular the software and apps that run on the NAS itself), this one feels professionally designed and implemented. That said, so many of the other apps (that run on the NAS itself) need major work, at least in the area of extensive bug fixes and reliability, let alone general design. Until the NAS and related apps get a professional touch (like this app appears to have gotten), QNAP NAS and related products would not be something I would recommend, they are highly unreliable and extremely problematic and bug ridden, to the point of not being usable for their basic purposes.

  • Downloads don't complete

Downloads don't "complete" (maybe a share ratio setting) or can't be set to finish the download within the app. The browser interface is required to properly stop and remove downloads.
  • Great

All round a good app, but why let me "sleep" my NAS and then give no option to use WakeOnLAN to within the app to wake it back up again later?
  • Ticks the boxes, but half-cocked overall

Kinda useful, if you don't have a computer or browser to hand.

But not a great deal of thought has been put into how this will be used. Case in point: you'll maybe launch this app a few times a year. What do you look for to find it in spotlight? You'd think you could enter 'qnap', but this app only appears if you remember it's called qmanager. 'Music by qnap' appears. 'Photos by qnap' appears. This app doesn't.

You'll find that throughout this app. Things seem to make sense and are obvious… until you start using it and you see the difference between design to fulfil requirements and design based on use cases.

  • Great Update.

Thanks for the good Update. It would be nice to be able to change the power schedule by using the app.
  • Love the new design

The new dashboard is awesome and just what the app needed!
  • From very good, to awesome.

Someone on qnap is listening, great app with a renewed ui. Now they need to fix the other apps. Great work!
