  • Computer Cheats to maintain its ELO

The game is glitchy it makes moves for you and you don’t see what your roll was. Sometimes you get to see your rolls and other times you don’t. Sometimes the computer does your move for you and you can’t control the move. The computer gets the craziest rolls to maintain it’s ELO rating. If you are in a race, the computer will get doubles to beat you to get back to its home board. I would be rolling in off the bar with 4 open pips and it would take 3-4 rolls, but it would take the computer 1-2 on only one open pip. The roll would be so fantastic, it would roll in, hit 2 of my checkers, and make it back to its home board. I am not exaggerating. I would be playing at a world class level, but lose to the computer that is set to a Intermediate level. It’s extremely frustrating playing a rigged game. How do you know when you are ready for the next level? Simply you don’t, because the game cheats to maintain it’s ELO. Where is the skill in that? I just deleted this cheating game. Please don’t waste your money.

  • Good Math, Bad Cheating

Yeah yeah everyone calls the game a cheat on the hardest setting, right? Okay, well I’m a computer engineer turned professional gambler… I like to pretend I know a thing or two about probabilities. The game cheats, 100%. I’m lucky enough to have a former world champion turned sports bettor in my circle, whom also believes the game quite obviously cheats. I just don’t get why they had to go the extra mile to cheat… I’m aware of the statistics feature of the game and how they don’t accurately represent what I’m referring to. I also know that recording hundreds of hours of play would prove it, but I’m not going too my to waste my time proving something that in the ends is worth nothing. Time = EV. Game cheats. Good for learning proper play with hints on, but other than that, doesn’t make learning very fun when it cheats. Just makes me close the game and regret spending money on it.

  • Freezing

After the latest update the games been freezing a lot, not sure why, but never has in the past…?????
Can anything be done? I have already deleted the app and re downloaded it, still no change.
  • Great BG app, but zero support and doesn’t work on iOS 16

I’ve enjoyed playing on XG Mobile for 3-4 years. The computer opponent at the higher settings is very challenging. The computer offers mostly good suggestions for you to consider playing. The movement of checkers is very quick - better than any other BG apps. I have played thousands of games on it and I would give it 5 stars.

However, there is no support from the app developers. I’ve emailed them multiple times, once about a year ago, and twice more recently after my phone updated to iOS 16.2 and then 16.3, and the app crashes constantly. I’ve had to revert to other BG apps instead of my paid-for XG Mobile. This is infuriating.

  • Useless on iOS 16.2 - iPhone 14 Pro

This is the one and only favorite game that I play on my iPhone. But ever since upgrading my phone the app has become worthless. For one thing, the tutor no longer works, so you’re not going to learn anything regardless of any mistake. And the other annoying thing is that you can’t see the dice that you roll on your turn!
I’ve tried reinstall as well as installing on other phones and got the same results.

What the heck is going on with the development of this thing? I’m amongst the customers who is using the paid version. Though currently I can’t exactly use this thing.
Let’s get to work people! Waiting here. Tick tick…

  • Excellent gameplay

I love the challenge of the computer opponent.
One problem: the app does not show my dice rolls when a move is not possible from the result, it just sort of hiccups and goes to the opponent’s roll. I want to know what my roll was even if I can’t use it.
  • Great app - keeps crashing

This app keeps crashing in the middle of games. I have to delete the app, then try to purchase it again and again and again. A message states the app will be restored because I already paid for it, and it reappears on my iPhone, then crashes again. This app is very very good, but does not work consistently. I have no problems with all my other apps. I do not know what to do at this point. I wish the app worked consistently.

  • Use the settings to improve your experience

I recommend playing the app in tutor mode, with “extended hints” selected (not default) and the highest competition settings under “game options” (again not the default). It is a good self-teaching tool.
  • Another Cheating Computer

The luck of the computer is incredible when it comes to coming off the bar and conversely, my luck always seems to run out when I need to get back on the board. I’ve played many years in real life and perhaps only 200 games on the highest setting in this app, and it does have good, logical hints that are nice to check in with, but the dice are far from what happens when I throw them with my hands—no matter what metrics the developers are tracking.

I suppose I’ll just wait for a dev like Cyberdyne Systems to make an honest game.
