Initial Thoughts
I’ve played the game for a week and have some initial thoughts. I like the fast pace of play and the dice seem random most of the time. I do find that when the expert gives advice that I decide not to take the game very often punishes me by giving the expert the perfect roll to take control of the game.Show lessKmoore9999
The best backgammon app
Playing against the computer is challenging and fun. You set the level of proficiency of the computer, and after the game, your play is rated. I am now one level below the top. I find that on days when I play poorly, I am generally not as sharp at other things. The converse is also true. If you want to become a good player, this app is for you. It’s algorithm judges your move basis on probabilities. You can pretty much predict when it will accept your double. There are multiple options for “tutors” which give you the percent chance of winning with various moves. You can make the tutor as invasive as you like. I have improved just playing many games. It’s fun to see how the app rates you at the end: Advanced, Expert, World Class, Intermediate, etc.

Wants to charge me 10 dollars again
I just bought a new iPhone and transferred all my Apps to this new one including Xg . However it’s prompting me to upgrade and pay 10 bucks or I can only play standard . I emailed the developer a couple of days ago . No acknowledgement
Update : the app was running slow after I downloaded it again and paid 10 dollars . I deleted it and reinstalled it again and of course I was charged 10 dollars once moreShow lessSinfulcry
Best BG Game Needs Updating
Let me add my voice to the chorus of players below calling for this game to be updated. Dice disappear when trying to roll off the bar, movement is no longer animated when you tap the lightbulb a second time and take the tutor’s advice.Jewish Steel
You need to do an update!
You haven’t done an update since 2017. Certain dice rolls are no longer being displayed, i.e., coming in from the bar to opponent’s home board, bearing off, and other occasional rolls. I have the new iPad Air (5th generation) running iOS 15.5. Please keep your app up to date, because it’s the best one available without the bugs (5 Star.) Why Cheat
Full purchase of game… 10+ year software engineer turned professional gambler a few years ago… my expertise is not in backgammon tho I am an “expert” player. The game cheats. 100%. Not arguable. Not by the stats they track, there are tons of other ways to prove it(bar opportunities vs bar hits, forced bad rolls vs perfect rolls, etc, etc). I get that on world class the bot plays better than any human, but it is blatantly obvious the game cheats with the dice for the computer. Consulted a former world champion player that is also a professional gambler and he instantly confirmed the game cheats. I would love to play and get better but what’s the point against a cheating AI. It has robbed me of my love for the game since mostly I can only play on my phone, and I don’t feel like watching the already better than me computer also cheat me game after game after game. 0/10 do not waste your money.Show lessRomes66
I wish I listened
Wow! I read some of the bad reviews but ignored them because of all of the testimonials from pro players. I also saw other websites that said they use the same AI engine. I thought surely the bad reviews were just people that didn’t know what they were doing. So I downloaded it and I purchased the $10 upgrade. Big mistake! I couldn’t figure out this game to save my life. It had to have been broken. There is no way to get back to the main menu nothing is intuitive and it’s a disaster. I’m not a dumb person and there was no way I could figure out what was going on. I tried deleting the app and reloading it I tried touching every part of the screen there was no way for me to get this game to work the way I expected it to. Loss of Feature
I had to download a new app due to changing my phone. The app is very slow and it does not have one of the feature that you used to have. When you are waiting to get in after being killed. It does not show the number what you got. It pauses until you roll it again for your opponent. Otherwise I enjoyed very much and hoping you will restore the feature and do something for the speed.

Best IOS Backgammon Game
After trying many backgammon apps on my iPad over the last few years, I finally found this one that has the most real dice. After deleting about six apps I found one I liked, but it would let me win at times and have outlandish rolls at times to win. I could predict I would loose a match after about five rolls in the first game. With this app I truly feel the dice are more random/fair. I also enjoy that it will offer a correction to a move I make. All the other apps I played expert and found them easy. Not here; this app gives me a great game at advanced. As a child I usually won all board games with school friends family and neighbors. This truly is the best app I could have hoped for and I look forward to getting more XG apps.Show lessBeBopLives
DONT BUY THIS
Sorry I don’t usually flunk an app but this one is maddening. Why? It’s beautiful. It has a great tutor. It feels like it’s on a much more serious level than any other I’ve tried. On and on. BUT it doesn’t work. Just when you are in and enjoying it goes wonky. Erratic behavior, locks up, interface access is inconsistent.
The most frustrating thing is that the designers have not answered or commented on one (ONE) comment in years.
The computer based Extreme (I think it’s called) the one this mobile version is related to (I think) is supposed to be great, well liked, etc.
WTAF??????
