  • App doesn’t cheat

I thought I was a decent backgammon player but I couldn’t seem to improve. Using this app has made me aware of how ineffective my play was (and still is although improving). As to the app cheats…definitely not! Making effective moves means more of your moves count. Making effective moves means you can utilize a higher percentage of die thrown to your advantage. That is what this app teaches you!

  • Great learning tool

Ranks all possible plays. Takes time to properly use. I wish the arrows indicating plays would remain longer on the screen. The best training in the web.
  • Using this app will improve your game, but only goes so far

It recommends a few top moves, and what the odds of winning using each move are. However it does not tell you why one move is better than another, which is key to applying the lesson from the move. Therefore you need to couple this with some books to teach strategies, identifying different types of “games” and how you should play in that “game”

  • Good tips, insane probabilities

If I play a two player game with a real live person, the tips are excellent. Of course, bad rolls and sure wins that flip into losses can happen. However, playing single against this computer, even using using their tips, I get improbable losses more often than not with tremendous consistency. When I reset the stats, it’s comical how lopsided the first few hundred rolls can be for things like entering from the bar and never in my favor. I find live backgammon to be a fun, relaxing game, but I usually close this app wanting to throw my phone at something.

  • Useful practice

The recommended moves can be a bit of a trap. Sometimes they are useful and other times they are little or no better than my personal move. It appears the program has preferences not necessarily better moves. As in any game of chance, it seems the dice favor the program at times. Even then the situations it creates are useful puzzles. Bottom line I enjoy the app.

  • Check

Probably the best backgammon robot out there. If you want to improve your game get the pro version, set it to champion level, and put it on training mode.
  • Research Based

Playing the best game possible, regardless of dice and “Joker” tosses. If your goal is to learn and get better, this is the right app. Add the desktop version and you’ll have a full suite that teaches you how to play the best odds and win the games you should win, with the cube where it should be.
  • In the most competitive set the app is rigged to win

You are warned. The dice is rigged as you dial up the app’s “skill level” Be prepared to be frustrated by how incredibly lucky the app is at the highest setting. I have experienced this over and over, after being app will immediately come off the bar and hit your blot and cover. Whereas in similar circumstances I am more likely than not be struck on the bar. The app claims only the most advanced players can win at that level. That is crap. Only few luckiest players would win consistently. It would be complicated to program changes in playing skills, whereas fiddling with the dice rolls would be straightward.

I now have played over 400 games at the highest level. The dice statistics says it all. The app has a 7% advantage in getting off the bar.

  • Don’t waste your money. The game cheats.

There is absolutely no doubt that the game cheats. It always gets the dice that it needs. It will roll five doubles out of seven rolls (three in a row) when you are in a race to bear off, 90% of the time it will get on the board on the first roll after being hit, even with only one open slot, it’s always able to jump a 4 or 5-point prime, and almost always wins the first roll. I can go on and on. The experts will tell you that the algorithm/dice are random. BS. I’ve been playing backgammon for 60 years and though I’m not an professional player, I know when Im getting shafted. It’s random when it’s once or twice. When it is every game and every roll, I don’t think so.

Can I get my money back Game-site 2000?

  • Frustrating!

Cannot agree more with mudsharkbyte’s review! The app is an excellent tool to improve your backgammon and I recommend it; however, after THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of games played in 5+ years I can confirm that, with odds far beyond normal, it throws miracle dice when it is in a desperate situation turning it upside down. This is of course frustrating because even if you play very well your winning chances are far below average.
