Help?!
I recently moved and got 'top down-bottom up'. In my prior house I had that as well, except I have remote blinds now, and I didn't have remote before... I had a draw string. My problem now is my wifi does not connect to the Hunter Dougles App. if my life depended on it. My home is aprox. 2100sq ft and I have my main router on the upper floor. The blinds are on the main level... I have a wifi connector/locator on the upper floor, as well one on the main floor where the blinds are and the app still doesn't work... Do you think I need more wifi connectors? Or is my wifi connection not strong enough from my provider? Help?!

Disfunctional.
Scene modes work sometimes. Can't be used away from your wifi even though there is a setting for it.
Worst experience -updated
Shades cost me $1k each. (Store now gave partial refund) On third! router bridge kit. First one died after 2 weeks. Replacement stopped working. You need it for this app to work. Remote setting in app does not work for me. Sunrise/sunset does not work for me. Clock on bridge does not keep time or sync. -Continually advances for no reason for me. Every time power quits the bridge needs to be resynced with my iPhone. I need to be a full time network administrator with this product. Programming instructions incomplete. Would not buy again. HD please fix app, bridge kit, and shades.

Makes my life easier!
I should have downloaded this long ago...this app works great. The timer function is awesome and makes my life so much easier. Well done.
Cool idea but not consistent
As a Hunter Douglas Certified Professional Dealer, I love the product, but when it regularly decides not to work in my home, it's a big let down. Needs bugs fixed
Unreliable Networking - Useless
You might expect a company like Hunter Douglas which knows nothing about computers or networking to do a terrible job designing a WiFi controlled shade. You'd be right. I bought one shade to test before doing my whole house, and I'm really glad I did. Syncing between the shade and the iPhone app is very unreliable. Sometimes it'll work the way it's supposed to. Other times you'll spend 20 minutes pushing buttons on the shade and fiddling with the router and relay only to meet with frustration. Syncing is supposed to be something that you only have to do one time, when you first get your shades, but my experience has been that the shade loses contact with the system every few days, requiring that you go through the process over and over. The system is buggy and simply not ready for public sale which is outrageous when you consider the very high cost.

App works most of the time
It's a nice app, relatively easy to set up.
I like the time schedule feature, and have set up a daily schedule to raise and lower shades at various times of day. That's a great feature for times when you are away from home, on vacation, or whatever. It gives your home that "at home " look.
Occasionally we use the remote control device to raise or lower shades if we want to change the scheduled setting of the moment.
I don't know if using the remote control device affects the Bridge unit, but after we use the remote control device the scheduled events sometimes don't happen.
I can open the app on my iPhone or iPad and manually tap a scheduled setting, and the shades respond correctly.
And sometimes the schedule simply stops working, and I have to manually open the app and tap on a scheduled event button to invoke the event. After that, the scheduled events work again.
Other than these very minor annoyances, we quite like the app. I'm looking forward to the remote-from-home feature to become available.

Like living in the 22nd century! A few glitch fixes would make it perfect!
We just had our Hunter Douglas motorized blinds installed today, and I have been having major fun with Platinum. I already have over a dozen scenes programmed. Those work well when I am connected, but the app seems to disconnect frequently. It also randomly won't let some devices connect at all. This is odd, as I have premium cable internet and a strong WiFi signal. Then it won't reconnect automatically. The sunrise and sunset feature is way off on its timing, and there's no way to view the data it is using or adjust it. Lastly, Platinum needs some way to organize scenes better, perhaps in folders, and to reorder them. The standard iOS drag to reorder items in edit mode is missing. I look forward to some fixes, and the long-promised control from another location over the web feature.
I seem to have encountered another limitation. At a certain point, the Platinum Bridge refuses any additional scene time settings. My calculations show that this happens when 100 time settings have been saved. That may seem like a lot, but in every scene you can set a time for each day of the week, so you actually can only have 14 scenes that have all days of the week set! Actually 15, but the 15th scene will only accept 2 time settings! I have submitted some questions to Hunter Douglas to see if this limitation is on all Platinum Bridges or whether I have a defective one. If this is a hardware limitation, it should be mentioned in the manual.

Blinds controlled from an iPhone or iPad
Over all this software appears to work pretty well. The timer feature is really great. There is however a limit to eight blinds per room. So if you happen to have more than eight motorized blinds in any room you will have to divide them into "two rooms". I think the updates on the current software are much better than they were one year ago. This is a solid platform and works well. If you have more than one network in your home you can sometimes be confusing. The blind controller and your device have to be on the same network to work.
