I would like to say That I use value cabs a lot and have never had any issues. Tonight I was out with my sister and my mum on her 84 birthday. I had booked online and the taxi driver had sent a message at 1913 to say he was outside. We went out and couldn’t find him and he was in traffic and pulling up at the far side of the road. This was outside Darcys in Belfast so we had to walk to the lights and cross the road. We were I in the taxi at 1918. The taxi driver argued with us that first of all we were in the wrong taxi even though it was the same registration. Secondly he said he’d been waiting 15 minutes when we clearly saw him driving and parking in front of us. He had a very bad attitude and not a good representation of the company. It did not leave a very good taste after a lovely night out.

Poor service yet again!

I have never written a bad review for anything but felt compelled to this evening. The last time I used value cabs, my taxi went to the wrong location, didn’t ring and just drove off. Charged me a fee, despite the fact it was to a well known spot in the city and I was stood outside it when I ordered it . Then again I booked a taxi 2 hours before I needed it to arrive this evening, to ensure it arrived on time. The taxi arrived 20 mins late but I think that was only a result of ringing value cabs several times and getting through their minefield of automated services. So frustrating! Never using them again

Awful app

Booking in advance is awful. You can’t input a pick-up address as it always resets to ‘current location’. So if you’re trying to book an airport pickup it’s useless. Also when trying to book in advance, even if you select 1500 pickup it flips to 0300 so if you’re not careful you’ll have a cab arriving 12 hrs early. Value cabs should either sort it out or scrap it

Needs some work

This app is a far cry from Uber’s app but perhaps it will improve over time. My biggest complaints are that it consistently underestimates the fare by 20-25% and charges an extra pound if you use a credit card. And simple search’s like “Airport” or “Belfast City Airport” don’t always work. Please improve this app!

Rubbish Update

Once upon a time this was a great app. Utter rubbish now. No longer accurately recognises our location. Only allows you you to call main number, which you can do better without app, and then doesn’t register booking or allow you to track taxi. Pointless waste of phone memory.

Wait time always wrong

I’m sick of using this app and it telling me a 3 min wait or a 5 min wait, and then I sit for 15 mins without a car even being on its way. Other times it says a 10 min wait and the driver is outside in 3 mins ringing me annoyed I’m not stood waiting??? Seriously please can you make your wait time or booking times better it’s so frustrating. Not to mention, that on one occasion the driver never showed up and said that he had done the booking and took the money from my card. Rang in and didn’t receive any help or refund. Will be deleting it and never using value cabs again

BUG!!! Can’t set pickup address when in transit

App always uses “current location” and can’t be overwritten.
Right now I am on the move (on the Dublin to Belfast bus) and I’m trying to book a taxi in advance from Glengall street Belfast to my home. When I try to book in advance and set pickup address, the app overwrites the pickup address that I enter and reverts back to “current location”. This means if I book it now whilst in transit it will set my pickup address for the middle of the motorway. Important note, this bug has been present for at least a year now.

Ok app, poor service behind it.

The best software in the world wont help if the service is poor. Downloaded the app and registered without issue. Ordered a taxi to my desired pickup point with ease. After a 15 min wait I received a notification to say the passenger was on-board (which I wasn’t). I called Value Cabs who apologised that their driver had picked up the wrong passenger and said they’d send another taxi. 20 min later still no taxi. I gave up and called a rival taxi firm.
