Becoming Less Useful
I’m not much of a social networking person but I’m interested in content not readily available in the US, and that’s where VK saves the day. However, finding copyrighted/mature content (audiobooks, movies, videos, etc) has always been a challenge given that the majority of content is labeled or titled in Russian—and to make matters worse, SAFE SEARCH has now been disabled in the search filter, turning up even more irrelevant results. The algorithm does a fine job recommending relevant content but it’s pushing a lot of communities to the curb. The things I hate most about American social media apps (political correctness and censorship) has now infiltrated VK.

Latest update prioritizes sharing to stories more
I don’t like the new update. I now no longer have the sharing/reposting to my wall on my vk but instead only have the “share to stories” option. What if I want to repost one picture/photo I like from a grid/carousel post to my wall instead of reposting the whole post to my wall? Now if I want to choose one photo to repost from a grid post it only lets me share it to stories and nowhere else but before it there was an option to share one pic from a grid post onto the wall. Now it’s gone. Please put that function back. It’s inconvenient. Now I have to download a picture to my phone and then post it on my wall instead, which also doesn’t show the source of original post and that is bad. Plus I don’t want to download everything to my phone to reshare it. I don’t want to share anything to stories. I never used the stories feature and I won’t use it now. Please let people have more options again to share to their wall like before.
