Profound fun

I just received my Inner Balance Sensor and am playing with it... loving it already.
Easy to use, fun and motivating. profound insights.
I am a โ€œFuture of Workโ€ and โ€œFuture of Learningโ€ consultant and will build HeartMath into our programs as it provides: biofeedback, mindfulness, mood information, journal and a cloud platform for social-peer-supported learning all in One.
The mood function can help people to identify if they are actually doing a job they love or dread or anything in-between.
One could start meetings or other group sessions with a HeartMath session to bring all participants into coherence to achieve greater impact through co-creation and collaboration. These meeting could be cantered around personal, team or organisational purpose.
We will experiment and refine how we use it (follow me on LinkedIn).

Easy and effective

HeartMath is an easy but very effective method that can be done anywhere anytime, eyes open or eyes closed. The app is important to make sure you are going into coherence because some people, especially meditators, think they are in coherence when they are actually not. HeartMath has a profound effect on our entire being. Coherent energy radiates out to every cell in our body and to the people and beings around us. When you are coherent, the environment and people around you tend to become coherent. Win/win.

Inner Balance is working well for my son

My 10-yr-old son has ADHD and I have been trying to teach him mindful breathing for a while now. This app + pulse sensor has made it easy. Heโ€™s only been doing three minutes each day for the last two weeks, but he likes it and it calms him. We work out a list of โ€œthank yousโ€ before each session, which I say out loud on my sonโ€™s out breath. This usually leaves him in a positive mood. Nice one HeartMath.

Buggy as all get-out

Two years after writing this review unfortunately nothing has changed. I also see others commenting on the unreliability of HeartMath's extremely expensive but poorly made hardware. To plug in the sensor, connect it up and be told "No heartbeat detected" is supremely frustrating - the exact opposite of the relaxed experience HeartMath sells for big bucks. To have to replace a $125 sensor every year or so to maintain a product is not an option especially when the hardware costs HeartMath about $5. Shameful.

When it works (on my iPhone) it's great. But for the past 4 months, every time I've tried to use Inner Balance, it crashes after about 4-5 minutes, taking my session data with it. I wouldn't recommend any of HeartMath's products. The software is poorly written and the hardware doesn't last. I've had lots of problems with their emWave2 as well as it's software simply not work as it should. Good ideas; extremely poor execution which renders their products virtually useless. As HeartMath charges a pretty penny for their products I wouldn't recommend any of it as it's extremely poor value for the money.

Problem with updates

My sensor and app are no longer on speaking terms since the latest Inner Balance and IOS updates. The app/sensor cannot find my pulse. Have ditched and re-loaded the app 3 tines to no avail. Please advise!!

Helpful

I find this app to be useful in reducing my migraines. I use it 3-4 times a day when I'm in the office. It is more helpful than just taking a couple of minutes to breathe as it holds me accountable if my mind wanders or if I can't stop the chatter.

I've also used it to tell me if I was healthy enough to go to work when I'm not feeling good as I have a tendency to push through. The app has been great at providing real time results in how my body is really doing.

This product is too expensive to work this poorly

I had used the wired version for a while until it just stopped working after a month of use, so I was hoping for a better result with the Bluetooth version. It doesn't pair with the iPhone or the iPad mini. I've deleted the app and reloaded it, reset it, turned the machines off and on and it doesn't do anything. Doesn't even pick up on the new wired version that I have. Since the settings have NA for devices, I can't make it forget all devices. There really should be better instructions since this doesn't set itself up automatically. How often do we need to charge this? How do we know when it's fully charged? Does the LCD change color when it's fully charged, or when it's paired, or when its low? Even though I had it plugged in for three hours last night, I have it plugged in again to see if maybe there's a difference between plugging it in an outlet and plugging into a computer. Very disappointed
