Embarrassingly buggy

The whole experience is painfully slow and unsettling prone to crash and reload. Loading on iPhone is intermittent at best. In the rewards section you get stuck on a product and can’t come back. It’s like the Coutts board have never used Monzo or Starling and think banking needs to stay as it was in 2010 or so.

Sends you round a farcical timewasting circle

As a previous reviewer explained, you have to authorise a payment you’ve made with the App by going to a PC. WHY? And then the web-based PC site sends you BACK to the mobile for something called CouttsID. Which I have yet to make work. And they wonder why we still call them on the old dog and bone. Come on Coutts, can’t be that hard if HSBC and Barclays have mastered it securely.

Brilliant to have my banking and investments all in one place

Love the multi currency reporting and the security offered as standard. Much more secure than my other banks

Why is this app so bad ?

This app is incredibly difficult to use. Even making a simple transfer is almost impossible on an iPhone 5s because of the scroll behaviour.

Seems frustrating that this bank has such a badly made app when you have to pay so much to bank with them

Keep using telephone banking

Started using this app recently and have had to give up. Tried to make a payment which requires you to then confirm with the online banking platform. That then sends a one time passcode back to the mobile that you need to use the app to read (are you keeping up?). Message didn’t appear but somehow managed to disable the app. Called the support line to be told that it was apple’s fault, then that I must have no internet connection then that I should use a card reader to login. Complete and utter farce.

Good but needs facial recognition

I use several banking apps and in honesty the Coutts app is about the same as the rest.

The down side is clearly the lack of regular updates. I've had an iPhone X since it came out, when will the app become compatible? Lacks facial recognition and full screen imagery.

Please update and bring the app into the modern world. We should not need to ask for this.

Love the new look

Great job Coutts - love the new wealth overview page and how much easier it is to make payments as soon as I log in! Would be good to pay a new person without having to log in on my PC but the Helpdesk tell me this coming later is year.

What were Coutts thinking???

This upgrade proves that looks are not everything... It's so bad and clunky it's hardly worth using! You are only allowed to look at about 20 transactions- they give you the option of looking at your statement which is SO small you need a microscope and you cannot even rotate into landscape to try to help! Cannot believe that Coutts actually paid someone
to design this - please please bring back the old version - this one makes me want to join Metro Bank

Hate the new app - absolutely hate it!

You can hardly see anything on each screen. Also I now need to go through two screens to get to my account summary - then I can't even see that on a single view of the screen.

Was this created and tested by people who were just trying to make it more annoying?

Was ok, April 2017 update a mess

The new update looks prettier but is actually harder to use and requires more screen tapping - for instance you no longer see a list of transactions in an account, instead you have to click through month by month. And don't tell me I "may have to pay fees on this transaction" and link me to a fees page. Either tell me I do or don't mention it and leave it in the t&cs. The app now feels like a collaboration between a schoolchild and a lawyer.
