Calm was an essential tool as I faced FOUR life changing events

A friend asked me yesterday, how is it that you are always so calm in the face of challenges (e.g. tumour pressing on sciatic nerve + grade 3 ACL tear + cancer + divorce simultaneously). My recovery has been quite the journey. How is it that I've come out and look better than ever? There are many reasons e.g. the incredible people I have in my life being a key factor, butI must also give credit to the daily habit of listening to the Calm app. This same friend asked, is it free? No, nothing in life is free. I followed up with, remember, money is a tool. It is up to us how we allocate it. You can choose to spend your money on alcohol etc. or tools like Calm, to enhance your life. Lastly, it is one thing to have a gym membership, another thing to actually make the commitment to go to the gym. Don't just subscribe to Calm, actually use it!

Calm. Not worth the money to me

My expectations not met So feel grossly over priced Worst feature is that I’m locked in for a full year. Thus makes it a pretty safe business , being that if I choose to unsubscribe. I won’t get any pro rated refund Let me say that it feels like I’m shackled for a year to an underperforming ap Not fair business from a business who purports to eastern philosophy Thanks Fair Player 9

1found this an inspiring reminder that it’s so easy to react ,harder to take time to think, then respond mre appropriately

Response from developer

Hi there, I'm sorry for the trouble! Reach out to support@calm.com and we'd be happy to help you out.

Worth it

I never write reviews but I feel this app deserves it.
It is single handedly the best meditation app I have ever had the pleasure of using. I use it every night before bed and occasionally in the morning and during the day. It has drastically improved my life and I feel like a better person because of it. I will continue to use calm every day because for me it’s well worth the money I pay for it. Sure I pay $100 a year but I get so so much more value out it then whatever I’ve paid. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ❤️

Amazing! (With updated review!)

I'm asleep in minutes! Meditations are great! Reliefs anxiety! Best app! This app really helps me fall asleep! I recommend 100%! One thing though! The app is a little slow, which is fine, maybe it's just my iPad but if you know how to, please fix this! Ok this app is amazing! Sleep stories ALWAYS make me fall asleep! I have tried other apps, but this app is the one that gets me to fall asleep. I mainly do the sleep stories, but I've tried the mediation too and there great too! I love your music! I also love the daily check in! Best app ever! Updated feedback: I just thought of something, I don't know if you have this, but if you don't could you add the option to make playlists of your favorite calm stories, music, and meditations. You could have playlists of your favorite music that makes you fall asleep!
UPDATE
alright so we had a lifetime membership and then it quit so that was sad. But main thing—unless your a member or something it’s hard to use calm to its full potential. In fact, you can barely do anything. Still am firm to my claim—calms one of the best of its kind, and is really awesome! Helpful for all! Maybe more things for non members?

Thank you

Having lived with depression on and off for decades, I am finally and hopefully making the daily changes needed for a calmer and more content life. One of these changes has been using the Calm app 2 or 3 times a day. After only 2 weeks, I am feeling a difference in my way of viewing and getting a wider perspective on the world around me. I am reacting, or not, to external events, in more considered and calm way. I am able to recognize when I am starting to feel over-whelmed and use some of the strategies learned through using this app, to bring me back into the NOW rather than my imagination taking over with the negative ‘what if….’ thoughts and images. Being a complete novice to meditation and mindfulness, I am finding that Jeff Warren’s ‘Mindfulness for Beginners’ sessions, to be invaluable. The real lightbulb moment for me was in session 12 - Sanity Day! Now whenever my mind is running away with itself, or I feel a panic attack coming on, I use the ‘see’, ‘hear’ method to send these negativities away and bring myself back to the present using deep breaths and a simple phrase, ‘Now…. I am home.’ Thank you Jeff and the team for being part of the light at the end of this tunnel xx

Amazingg!!!!!

I never ever write reviews especially for Apple Store. Usually never worth my time, but this is the first app I’m going to give a review on. This is the best app to seriously go to sleep to. Last night was the first night I tried this and literally my wife and I passed out!! I have a very big night owl, with my sleeping schedule being so messed up I thought I was about to have to start taking sleep medication again. This app is worth the $70 a year and I’m legit day 1 into my free trial. I absolutely love it. For me to write a review and say I love this app comes to me as a big shocker. I thought it was going to be a trash app at first, but I definitely got proven wrong when one sleep soundtrack come on and I went from being so energetic to so CALM in a matter of minutes. One of the most relaxing nights I’ve had in a while and I usually toss and turn all night long and it also takes me forever to go to sleep. I am just 23 years old and I worked in so many manufacturing and labor jobs on night shift I didn’t think I would ever go to sleep as fast as this app made me.

Don’t do it, headspace is key

I’m only rating this 5 stars in the hope it’s gets seen by people! In the past, I loved using the Calm app it helped me get to sleep on many a restless night! I stopped using the Calm app for a few months in favour of Headspace because of their collection of sleep radios (highly recommend) But lately whenever I start a sleep story any sleep story it just stops playing randomly and even if I close the app and open it again it just does the same thing again. Also the app lags a lot which is frustrating, the complete opposite of what it should be! Thoroughly annoyed as this is what I would expect from a free app! I hope the developers actually see this and respond! For anyone thinking about buying Calm, think do I want to spend an extra half an hour frustrated before I can access my mediation or sleep story or whatever it is. I fully recommend you do not buy this app instead go to Headspace as their collection is of a high quality and they may not have celebrity narrators but the content speaks for itself. I will not be recommending Calm to a friend.

Felix has a stunning, soothing, and low pitched voice. He should be added because a lot of people love his voice. And it could amplify the app's popularity among stays. It's a good idea. But it's not necessary. If your app is a voice-over, then you should use the same pitch as the voice, or even a lower one. The same goes for the text. A Felix has a stunning, soothing, and low pitched voice. He should be added because a lot of people love his voice. And it could amplify the app's popularity. Felix gets a load of support. If Felix's voice can help a 10 year old with autism calm down, it can help your users too. So it's good to have him. You can even add a Felix to your text messages if it helps your customers. This is an excellent idea and one that I've seen in a few places. I like this idea, because Felix has a stunning, soothing, and low pitched voice. He should be added because a lot of people love his voice. And it could amplify the app's popularity. Felix gets a load of support. If Felix's voice can help a 10 year old with autism calm down, it can help your users too. We have a ton of users that love Felix. His voice is amazing. That's why we'll be adding him to the list. Maybe you want to add Felix because he has this video series that is intended for people who can’t sleep.

Well worth the money

This app is a must-have for everybody. Firstly, I love the student discount they offer. The regular subscription is a bit pricy for me currently as a college student but the student discount makes helpful mindfulness tools accessible to stressed college students. The app contains incredibly helpful grounding techniques, guided meditations, and breathing exercises. With anxiety especially, sometimes the physical symptoms can worsen the psychological symptoms. It’s very beneficial to be able to focus your attention on how you’re presently feeling, how slowly you’re breathing to help calm yourself down. I really love using the check-in tools in the mornings and before bed, to track how I’ve been feeling over a span of time. It makes it easier to tell my psychiatrist and therapist how I’ve been feeling and for how long. I also love the sleep stories and soundscape features to help me sleep. Sometimes with my anxiety, laying in bed in silence with my thoughts keeps me awake for hours after getting ready for sleep. It’s helpful to have a relaxing neutral stimulus to focus my attention on rather than my thoughts. All in all, a very useful app with plenty of tools.

So worth it and it just keeps getting better

I’ve used Calm for a few years now. Primarily we purchased after trying the free sleep stories and finding they helped our children fall asleep faster (for real and we had tried a lot of things!!) I’ve used it to help retrain myself to fall asleep after years of pregnancy insomnia and broken sleep after children had messed with my sleep patterns. I’ve used meditation courses, and dailies. The children have grown out of waking during the night and they’re still using the sleep stories. I love that new resources keep being added while old favourites remain.
