  • I LOVE this app

Hi!! I wanted to leave a review because I absolutely love this app. It’s been really helpful and easy to use / integrate into my daily routine. I’ve streamlined my work and personal routines, using the app to help me prioritize items and remember to do things.

Being in the software realm, I do have some feature recommendations, too 🙃:
    - An “end of day” for projects option: like the end of a regular comes, I would like to set an end of day for work related tasks/projects. My recommendation stems from being able to reschedule items as easily at the end of my workday as it is at the end of the real day. I tend to be a little over ambitious with my work tasks…
    - An option to hide certain items until a future time: I like to put weekly items (specifically meetings and other weekly tasks) into my work project. I like seeing my open “tasks”, but I don’t want to see these weekly items once I’ve completed them for next week because that clutters up the board. I end up only displaying things a week at a time to adjust for this (and then periodically setting the view for a longer term to check on things), but it would be awesome to see more of my long term items or things that I plan to do later in the board without weekly (or daily) clutter.

  • Overall it’s good

Todoist has always been what I find myself settling on after going through so many options. It’s strengths are in its focus on simplicity and core functionality that we care. That said, would love to see a few things, 1. Import my calendar to show along with tasks for day level planning. 2. A little color please. Some vibrant colors would be really great. At the very least, can we please get some of the older app icons back. 3. See sub projects listed under main. I have a handful of projects under a few main projects (work areas). When I click to see the main project area, I can only see tasks for the main one, it doesn’t show listing of subprojects. This gets confusing when I have no task under the main project and all the tasks are under main project’s sub projects.

—— Edit on 5/15 post developer’s reply: no, you should take my feedback and share with your team. I already spent enough time with a review, 5-star rating, and now responding again. Don’t make me run through your support system to make your job easier. It’s frustrating and stains a good app experience I have otherwise.

  • My ADHD Brain Thrives with Todoist

I’ve been using Todoist for several years now. I have ADHD, full disclosure, and this app is a lifesaver. I started using it just with work - juggling so many projects, follow ups, and stupid tedious tasks was (still is) impossible for me to keep track of. I never used paper planners consistently 😭 Routine is the #1 thing I struggle with. I come back to Todoist everyday because I gotta keep my karma and streaks going 🤣 my current streak is 107 weeks (I forgot to turn todoist vacation on before my current streak and I cried when I came back!)
Slowly, I began incorporating personal tasks - budget, wellness, some of those goal check-ins, reminders to schedule a doctor appointment and send birthday cards. Pretty much every facet of my life is touched by Todoist now. Its also enabled me to be goal-oriented…something I never thought I’d say.
Because Todoist is helping me track all categories of my life, I can set tasks and recurring things that will push the pin of my goals a little further each week or month.
Fast forward to today, Im beginning to introduce Todoist to my team - and we’re creating a team in it! Im excited to not have to remind my coworkers to water their office succulents anymore 🤣 we have a recurring task and reminder for that!

  • Great for ADHD

I’m happy I downloaded this app after reading it can help adults with ADHD. So far I’ve found that it’s pretty user-friendly and holds me accountable so I use as a tool daily. It’s simple and such a great way to stay organized. It also helps me stay on top of things like taking medication because you can set up routines (my favorite feature).

I tried Ever Note at the same time but it confused me. I like that you can prioritize on the Todoist app and my new (2nd) favorite feature, you can use it for project planning and add sun tasks. You can use the list view or more like a project map. I find that useful. So far I love the app. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because some bells and whistles would be nice. Such as when you complete a certain amount of tasks. Currently, it shows confetti and acknowledgment but, no sounds. More things like sounds, haptics or even bold colors can help with engagement. Especially since the colors for Priority don’t stand out much. Anywho I may be asking a lot but it’s a great tool in my ADHD managing tool belt. Thank you for creating this app!

  • Switched from TickTick to Todoist

Why did I switch? Although TickTick has a lot of additional bells and whistles, Todoist has done an amazing job at the aesthetic and UI/UX. It’s a beautiful app. You can also tell they put a lot of attention into the minimalist approach to features but have many features quietly available for Power users. There are only two amazing apps for GTD on the market and these two are the bees knees. So, what would give them five stars for me? - would love a very minimalist calendar snapshot in the app for overall planning (similar to Things. Yes, I already do use the Gcal integration) - Would love if when I’m in a smart filter and click the “add” button, it would automatically send my quick add to that particular filter/list. - the Siri integration could be a bit better. Siri often gets confused that when I say “Todoist” vs “to-do list” …creating an “auto-input from reminders” would be a game changer - Start date is BIG must, as my team also uses it for project management. Keep Pressing forward Todoist Team! Great Job!

  • Great for list oriented people

Started using todoist when l felt overwhelmed at work and have been using it daily. Todoist has helped me because I used to literally lose sleep thinking about all the tasks I needed to get done the next day. Ever since l started using todoist, I sleep easy knowing my priorities are already written out for the next day. I use this for work, for my hobby, and even for my family. I have two jobs and its easy to overload everything but I group my lists together and set dates to check on progress. Todoist is so easy to use. My husband and I have a grocery list together, an errands list, regular routines like taking out the trash and when to roll out the recycle bin, a list for places we want to go or things we want to do as well as a list of gift ideas and who we would get the gift for. I have showed so many co-workers, friends, and family. Many of them started using it. I love that I can use it on the web and the apps and integrations are so easy to set up.

  • Update: Cost-prohibitive, unfortunately

I really have loved this app, but I need to be able to schedule projects and reminders to try to help as I am permanently disabled and am trying to market my art on a PT basis. Right now, I am one senior citizen living alone, and paying close to $50 a year for these basic functionalities unfortunately makes the app unfeasible for me. If my finances were to significantly improve as a result of using those added features to functionality, I absolutely would be able and willing to pay a yearly subscription fee as well as would likely evangelize them all over the Internet as in the past I have blogged, written articles and done projects with major sites like Fitness Magazine, Coping with Cancer, Lifehack, and more. Now I am disabled and trying to regroup and revisit some of these creative abilities (art and writing, especially), and I really need those functionalities of projects and reminders. I was disappointed when, on my previous review the developer responded, inviting me to contact him to see how he could help, only for there to be no response when I did so and even said I am willing to provide proof of Social Security Disability. This is a great app, but unfortunately some basic functionality is simply too cost-prohibitive for a disabled senior citizen trying to find a way to climb up. Maybe someday.

  • Adult ADD “must have”

I am somebody who struggles to keep routines and remembering things that need to be done on a weekly monthly or annual basis. I might also forget to pick up some thing at the store you asked me to get last week!
Instead of self-loathing and beating yourself up, get this app and use it in every aspect of your life. I stopped using other types of reminders because this one links directly with my Google calendar. I like that I can prioritize the tasks for the day or the week or whatever. At first, I prioritized way too many things, but now I try to use the labels for things that are important or urgent and I only use the priorities for three things per day.
In my opinion, there should only be one thing that’s the most important thing to get done.

Another cool thing about this app is that it allows you to use it however it works for you. I have it on my desktop computer at work also and it stays open all day long. It’s a well thought out and well designed app.

  • Exactly what I was looking for now

I’m updating my review one more time because after some known issues, the widget has been working great for me for several weeks now! This is exactly what I was looking for now that the iOS widget seems to be working well and I learned that defining tasks to recur every 24 hours instead of daily makes them work the way I want even if I complete them a little after midnight. I define some tasks to complete in the morning and some for later in the day, and the widget lets me easily see if I have completed the morning ones without having to open the app. When I complete a “daily” task after midnight, I want it to repeat at the next time it is due, not over 24 hours later, and defining them to repeat every 24 hours does that.

  • Best To Do List App Ever!

I used Wunderlist for years to keep me organized and really liked it. They got bought out by Microsoft and went defunct, so thought I would give this app a try. I wish I had switched YEARS AGO! Todoist is so much better, intuitive and streamlined. Honestly it’s hard to have lots of features in software without being “bloated” but this app pulls it off. I live by to do lists and love this one a lot. They add features that are useful, listen to community feedback and I’ve never had a single glitch or issue in the months I’ve been using it. Totally worth using and signing up for!

EDIT: I am editing this review to say that I could not get nearly as much done in my life without this app. I’ve used it for a couple years now and don’t know how I lived without it. I use it for work, home, groceries, recurring chores and tasks that I would otherwise forget. If a friend recommends a movie I note it here and add it to a list of recommendations. Each area of my life is separated into projects and subdivided into sections. If I had to keep only one single app on my phone it would definitely be this one! 6 stars.
