  • Challenging, addictive

If you’re a scrabble player, there’s a learning curve, but once you’ve climbed it, this game present more complexity. Now that I’ve been playing for about a year, I’m seeing patterns in the words that come up, as one dies in scrabble, too. But it’s still a great game.
  • Just okay

I’ve been playing this game for years and I want to be able to swap more than one tile at a time if I’m going to lose my turn. If you get a bad rack, especially if you have either all vowels or all consonants and then you keep getting the same thing when you use a letter, you’re often stuck with nowhere to play or only low points because you don’t have any options.

  • Game order

It’s not a big deal, but you asked. I noticed if I go to “next game“ to play, the games waiting are in order of last played instead of first played. When playing several opponents, I like to respond in the order they were played. Because of this, the “next game“ option is useless for me. Switching the order might be a good idea

  • Finally!

I have been searching for a long time for a more dignified, word game I can play with friends, without all the hoo-ha, manipulating players into spending money, changing valid words, enticing players to cheat and allowing slang words. You know who I’m talking about. This game is just what I’ve been looking for. If you appreciate standards, learning what the rules are snd trusting them not to change regularly, you will love this game. I do!

  • One of my favorite board games

Love this game and the app version is quite good.
My major complaint is, when playing the computer, there are far too many words played by the computer that are not words in any dictionary or any language.
Should be able to choose a dictionary and all words must be in it - just like the board game.

  • Great Game

Upwards is a great game which challenges your brain, memory and creativity. The only downside when playing against the computer is it doesn’t always apply the same rules to itself as to you and occasionally forgets to add a score. But it’s still enjoyable and helps keeps the brain sharp and engaged.

  • Poor Customer Service

I enjoy playing upwords, but after a recent upwords and iOS update my password does not work. The forgot password link is broken so it will not send a password reset to my email address. Daniel said he found a problem with the password reset link, but I informed him that the link still does not work. His solution was to tell me to check my junk mail. I explained that I checked my trash and junk mail but did not find an upwords reset password. I have written numerous emails to upwords requesting support, but Upwords is ignoring. Very disappointing.

  • Family game

We always played this as simplified Scrabble with the kids. Never got into the magic “Scrabble words” as a result. I wish the first 2 levels didn’t use them . It makes the app unplayable for us.
We send scorecards back and forth, and parents and adult kids still play. Always a tournament when family gets together. Bought 12 one year and gave as Christmas gifts along with a Lazy Susan!

  • Good version of Upwords

This is a good word game that requires a little extra thought than some others. The online play works pretty well. This is just a good simple game without a lot excess bells and whistles. There might not be quite as many words that are playable on this game compared to some others but I enjoy it just the same. So far, I have not found any non-legitimate players.

  • Notification Red Dot 🔴 glitchy

Love the game but the red notification dot with the number has been glitchy. It shows sometimes and sometimes not. Today both my dad and I had 100 notifications in the red dot. We did not have 100 moves to make. Is there a bug? Please fix. Thanks 😊
