Cheap and you get what you pay for

The absolute worst vpn I have ever used, it’s hard to connect or stay connected. It takes a long time to connect and that’s if you ever get connected. I used it for many different things but it was absolute nightmare and cause me to lose money from not connecting. And the customer service is just as bad as the connection service. I paid for a 5 year plan, after noticing how bad the connectivity was ( within 30 days) I tried connecting with customer service to get a refund and I couldn’t even get 1 reply back from someone that could solve my request, all I received was this automated messages. I’m only telling you because there is better out there than wasting your money to find out, good luck……

I don’t do many reviews on apps - I’ve used this VPN for over a year now after I left whatever provider I was using before because of some shady behavior or maybe a Netflix issue I don’t recall.

Look the app and service are an excellent value, but what prompted me to write this review was coming upon the listing in the store and seeing the latest update notes. They are ACTUAL UPDATE NOTES, not “blah blah generic bug fixes” nonsense.

Listen carefully - people/companies that take the time to do such things are the ones who actually give a crap about the user experience - they respect their customers and honor their time and money by treating them as adults. REWARD when you see stuff like this because it’s getting RARER AND RARER!

Refund never happened!

Be careful! Once you tried their service if you are not happy they will not let you leave and charge you again and again. They tell you they will process your refund but it will never happen. And all you can do is to call you credit card company to cancel the payment. Such a SCAM!

Excellent upgrade

Thanks PureVpn Developers. I could not change locations and experienced terrible buffering with old purevpn app. The new PureVpn app has no buffering and now I can change locations. Good job developers. Enjoying the new PureVpn App.

Changed rating to three stars because its been five months and an upgrade, and you did not fix the dedicated VPN problem. Your dedicated VPN disconnects in five minutes on IOS app. You did not fix this after repeated complaints. What good is support if you don't fix the problems. I still cannot us my dedicated VPN on ipad. It permanently disconnects in five minutes.

Works great

I don’t often leave reviews, but the comments I read are so negative and don’t reflect my experience at all. I’ve been able to load the app to all my devices and have been able to connect to every country I’ve tried. I even got an email from their customer service asking if everything was working for me. If things change, I’ll update but so far this is a very good app for the price.

Rubbish speeds and trying everything they can to get out of refunding

I’m not someone who usually writes reviews for minor issues, however Purevpn needs to be called out on its product and customer service. Speeds using a local server dropped to around 1/6 of what I would usually get. I’ve also issues with device management from work which means Purevpn is a no go. Despite offering a 31 day money back guarantee, I’ve been asked to submit proof of the speed issue (I did), told they could try and fix that (which doesn’t solve my work issue) and offered a years free extension to the 5 years I already don’t want. I don’t hold out much hope of being refunded.

Best VPN

I have used a few VPN providers over the years. Most work well on PC but the mobile Apps have left me wanting. The PureVPN works a treat on both. The App version has just had an update which provides more data regarding the connection made and also has made the VPN connection solid. It’s never dropped on me and the speed has not hindered anything I have wanted to do. Brilliant App, highly recommended.

Quick connect works, selecting a location fails

When I use quick connect, it successfully makes a connection; however, when selecting a specific location, it never connects. Tried several locations in the US.

Update: developer reached out to me and resolved the issue. Had to remove and reinstall. Upping my rating to 4 stars (3.5 is probably the best overall rating) as there are better (but more expensive) VPN services.

Longtime Customer

I bought this VPN years ago and recently renewed. Has many quirks and stopped working on one of my computers. Tried customer service on several occasions to repair and service, only way is to “chat online”. Being they are from China (strike one) communications is not ideal. VPN on iPhones won’t stay connected. Finally had enough bought a new vpn service and wow everything works with no hang ups. Cancelled the remaining three years of service only to be told “sorry” don’t qualify for a refund. Only then did I get an email asking to show them my problems so they could “recreate the problem” to offer a fix. Being they are based in China think twice before you buy!

Total rubbish

Trying to use to stream from the UK. Quick connect will not allow it. Customer service and support is next to useless. Don’t waste your money
Update. Received an email saying the developers were working on it as they were aware of the problem. It partially worked for a very short time but reconnecting later the problem was the same. Half way through live chat the operator disappeared with no notice. 24 hours on it is as useless as it was. If I could give it less than 1 star I would...don’t waste your money
