  • First time using…

I decided to try this app today and when I opened it all I had to do was to snap a shot and it identified the plant very accurately. I was able to add all plants to My Plants section however, when I went to open it again later, the whole home page had changed and my list was gone and so was the My Plants section at the bottom. I tried taking a pic again and this time it became a four-step process having to pic Family or Genus etc. don’t know why it changed but I wouldn’t pass this app on to anyone based on my experience.

  • Like better for two reasons

I like this plant id app better so far than any other because it’s two fo two on plant id that I tried so far and it’s also the only one that doesn’t FORCE me to sign into their deal before trying it. I very much appreciate that. For these two reasons I’ll upgrade. 👍
  • Perfect for my flower garden!

I’m have a large flower garden and random things pop up all the time! Partly due to my mother planting perennials she found on sale (for next year) or those things that reseeded from who knows where! This app is perfect! I can see what flowers bloom at a certain time of year, what things do great (and not so great) in my space. It does a great job of identifying what I have. This app is going to do my flower garden planning for me! 🌺🌼🌸🌻

  • Great App

This app has been exactly what I need.

My only quibble is that when I try to sign up, the button to “sign up” is covered by the keyboard that pops up to fill in your name, email, etc. and there’s no option for making the keyboard go away.
I’m a bit frustrated that I can’t sign up and contribute - what am I doing wrong?

  • The best friend in my pocket

I have had this app for nearly a year now, as I had been getting more interested in flowers anyway as a big birdwatcher, butterfly enthusiast and interested in photography and other areas of nature such as dragon and damselflies before but on my exercise walks whilst working from home due to the pandemic and through lockdowns I became a lot more interested in flowers and took many more pictures of them. But I only knew a few famous or obvious species and ones I’d picked up from word of mouth or noticing on social media etc. So a social media associate suggested I download this app and it was one of the best things I did as it’s boosted my flower knowledge immensely to not just recognise certain species but start to build associations and know what sorts of families flowers will be. The app is efficient, quick and easy to upload photos and bring up ideas of the species of or the family the flower is in. The percentage gage gives you a good guide as to how likely which helps you assess whether you can have this down to species level or if it’s one to have down to family level. The alternate names feature which came this year is also so useful as I so often see other common names for what I’ve put in and have heard of them so it’s a good way to gauge what the flower may be known as in your community. I look forward to enjoying this app much more in future and am forever thankful for the knowledge it’s given me so far.

  • Remarkable app

We just moved to a new home and with it came all kinds of mature plants. With established landscaping created by someone else, it’s hard to tell what’s a weed and what’s a plant/flower. This stopped us from pulling so many things we thought might be weeds to give them a chance. Sure enough, they’d flower into exactly what this app indicated. 5 stars every day of the week!!!

  • Free (so far) & Efficient

Have tried a few of these plant identification apps over the past 6 or so years. Honestly I feel like they all use very similar photo recognition software, if not the exact same. So they all do a pretty swell job (including this app) at locating the correct plant species via a user uploaded photo. However, this app is free and takes donations to stay afloat, rather than subscriptions. This fact alone causes me to like this app way more than the rest. I like being given the option to support this app, when it is financially feasible for me and my budget. I think this method will bring grow the community within the app, and strengthen the membership as a whole. The one suggestion I have is to maybe clean up the interface. It’s a little clunky, and awkward. Not too user friendly in all aspects, although it is in a few. In some areas there are more options to choose from where there needs to be less, and in other areas there are less options to choose from where there needs to be more. There should be more regions to choose from when saving your identified plant photo & information. Otherwise it’s a solid app, and I am happy with my download... thank you! Cheers!

  • Fantastic with a grain of salt

The app is really a wonderful resource and is fairly accurate. The problem is the human error factor. It compiles positive identifications that people upload-but people sometimes don't look close enough and log a false positive- so a bunch of photos are associated with an Inaccurate id in perpetuity. Generally the app has the correct ID within its top five, and perhaps a double check online by users would make it perfectly accurate.... I do not hold my breath. The simple fact that it is free, gives it a pass, and with a little bit of diligence on our parts, it could be the greatest resource out there. Overall 5 stars, with a grain of salt as the idiom goes-lol.

  • Needs a re-review facility!

Used the App now for a week or so, and, on the whole, it has worked well. A few misses, but most things I’ve pointed it at have been found… However, it has one flaw in my opinion… If you navigate away from the identification page without saving there does not appear to be a way of navigating back! So you need to take a new photo to start the ball rolling again! That’s OK if you haven’t moved away - but if you have, your stuffed! It would be really handy to be able to re-select a shot already taken to get back to the ID pages! Apart from that; it’s not bad!

  • The best plant identification app, bar none

Run by an educational foundation as a service to humankind, so no obnoxious ads or paywalls. Absolutely amazing, it’s gotten me addicted to identifying and learning about plants around me. Much love
