Leave a Review LAX FlyAway
Awful app
Don't use FlyAway. Just don't.Charges You, Doesn’t Give You Ticket
Using iPhone 15 Pro
If you use Apple Pay to pay for a ticket within the app, the app charges you for a ticket but does not give you a ticket. The payment goes through after using Apple Pay but the app then gives an error code, after which the ticket you paid for never appears.
Developers need to fix ASAP this has happened to me 3 times over the last 6 months.Show lessFlyaway can die a slow painful death
When metro goes into the airport very soon, this service will be obsolete, and thankfully so. The app doesn’t autofill payment info, so I saw on the website that you can pay by contactless card once in the bus. After being almost an hour late, the driver then proceeded to tell me that the onboard payment system wasn’t working, so I couldn’t get on. Should have just gone directly to the rideshare lot like I usually do! Be prepared for a big hassle and a huge delay if you use this service. Not worth the cheap price. Can’t wait for the metro service in airport!Show lessGarbage app
You can’t print out tickets purchased on the app. Customer service answered quickly, and she was friendly, but ultimately my problem was not resolved. I would give this zero stars if I could. Such an easy problem to solve and yet here we are.Use website instead
The website actually shows where buses are in real time and generally gives way more help. This is just for tickets that can be purchased easily at the stops or on the website anyway.TAP card
I use MTA fairly often and have the TAP app on my phone. It can be used on Flyaway without the restrictions. One catch, the reader on the bus cannot be used, one must go to the ticket booth to pay via TAP. The fare is the same.
Arrival at LAX suggestion: It’s a bit of a pain, but if you are at Terminals 5-7 and in the mood to stretch your legs, cross the parking garage and walk to Terminal 1 for the bus. I’ve been on the bus during peak periods and have seen it fill up by the Tom Bradley stop at T4.
Enjoy your flights, fellow travelers! And I agree, having to download an app to buy a ticket online does seem unnecessary.Show lessDont waste your time
Better you take local busesWhy??
I dont get why i have to download a whole freaking app, just to buy one ticket. Why cant I just pay on the bus?
Edit: I also waited for an hour while two busses just passed by us.
Not reliable at all, there is a free connecting bus to the green metroline right next to the stop. I recommend taking that.Show lessComplicated and unnecessary
App and ticket system need a complete overhaul.Flyaway is an essential service
In a city that makes it incredibly out of reach to afford good transportation to and from LAX, Flyaway is so important. It’s a shame they stopped servicing Hollywood ever since Covid. It would continue to cut down on congestion at LAX if more areas are serviced.
