  • Loss of features Poor experience

    I spent over $20k replacing units with variable speed features and had iComfort s30 thermostats which had Apple HomeKit integration. That was great and allowed me to easily use Apple Home or Siri to control my home climate. One of the s30 thermostats failed and was replaced with an s40.

    Now I can’t use Apple HomeKit and I can’t use one app. The s40 app is horrible and does not refresh the status unless I change the temp. Need to change mode? Three or four taps just to do that. The cost of the systems and thermostats is not reflected in the feature set, which is lacking! I hate Lennox and I hate that I’m trapped in their Stone Age ecosystem. Why Prakash Bedapudi, why did you remove Apple HomeKit? You have a very unhappy customer!

    J’aimerais savoir s’il est possible de l’ajuster plus clair? Je le trouve très très foncé presque noir et que c’est difficile à lire parfois?

  • Zoning problems

    Upgraded from the original white frame unit that was damaged to the S40. This is a very, very expensive >$1200 replacement thermostat. The screen is so dim on its highest brightness setting it cannot be seen in a day light room. You will need to download this software to control the thermostat except at night. The technician needed to use the smart phone app just to set it up. Now I see the zoning control system has bugs. Though each zone can be accessed and adjusted individually they cannot to be individually programmed. Editing the seasonal settings for any one zone changes the seasonal settings in all other zones. This has got to be a bug. This is basic to zoning management that even the original thermostat did properly. Come on Dave. You discontinued both prior thermostats. How long have you been selling the S40 and it has basic zone control bugs. Glad to see Lennox is updating the software frequently.

  • Good upgrade

    The S40 replaced my old white Lennox thermostat that had a dead screen. S30 thermostat was discontinued and unavailable. My only complaints are the expensive $1000 cost, touch screen will not wake unless I wave my hand within an inch of the screen or touch it, and is not Apple Home Kit compatible. S40 works with Google Home ok but I don’t care to use Google Home. The Apple S40 app is designed to work specifically with this thermostat and is required to replace the old Lennox app to work with iPhones. The screen brightness is about right at the very highest setting at all times. The WiFi connection is much more stable than my old thermostat. The outside temperature can be set to display either the outdoor sensor temperature or the local Accuweather temperature.

  • Best thermostat I’ve ever had! Easy and comfortable.

    I owned the prior iComfort thermostat which worked, but wasn’t always the most intuitive or easy to set up / program.

    The s40 is a miracle! Great display, settings, it’s accurate, and integrates my communicating Lennox equipment beautifully.

    The app is much improved as well. I never used the old app much. This new one is so nice - including the status and settings and ease of control - it’s a breeze to program and there are a ton of options inside of it.

    Allergen defender mode
    Accu weather
    Pollen / mold / grass counts and more.
    Digital humidity control (no more humidistat!)
    Home and away modes for energy savings
    Allows for extra sensors to be added throughout the home for extra temp readings and added balancing

    I’ve owned Trane, Carrier and Lennox and I’ll never own anything but Lennox.

  • Doesn’t connect via WiFi hardly ever

    I can be standing right next to the thermostat with my phone in hand and it still won’t connect. I can’t imagine if I were 100 miles away and needed to adjust anything.
    Maybe once a day it will connect. Other than that I’m stuck doing it the old fashioned way - getting up and adjusting the temp manually.
    What’s the point of this app if it doesn’t work???

  • Beware of misleading Alexa Compatibility!

    During the set up of this app, it instructs you on how to connect the thermostat and this app to Alexa using the provided skill. In the Lennox advertising it claims that they have connectivity with Alexa through their skill and this app. That is completely misleading. The app has been broken for many months and there is no indication that it will be fixed. The thermostat cannot be recognized by Alexa and therefore cannot be controlled by Alexa. Incredible that’s such an expensive thermostat can have such garbage software.

  • Not ready for prime time

    This thermostat is Buggy, does not work reliably, extremely disappointed, not much better than a beta version. Needs a lot of upgrading to be useful. I do not recommend this unit.
  • This app is garbage

    I had an Ecobee thermostat which worked just fine with my previous unit and was talked into upgrading to the S40 unit with my new furnace.

    This has been a horrible upgrade. First of all, I use a randomized password from a vault. Unlike with every other app I can’t paste the password to log in. It errors out. So I have to manually key the PW which is a massive pain.

    Second, once I log in, I can’t control the device anyway. I can see it but the device ignores any changes I make. I’m wholly dissatisfied with this app and the unit that I paid a very substantial amount of money for.

  • Thermostat / App Connection

    I had the new system installed about a month ago. It’s been great with the exception that the thermostat & phone app connection is intermittent. I’m sitting in the same room & it won’t connect sometimes so that I can adjust the temp/humidity, etc.
