Simple yet effective!

This app is very nice, from the ui design, layout etc I’m really pleased with it. The widget is also a nice tracker when you want to check but don’t want to go into the app itself so that’s another plus. Personally, even though I am tracking macros in this app, I have a sense of leniency towards the database because I’m not nitpicky about each and every single macro so I don’t mind slight error. If there is also an error you can just add your own macros into the database which is nice. I think the database is simple and easy to use which makes it a more enjoyable experience. You can create your own recipe if needed and just putting in the ingredients it’ll calculate the macros per serving for you which is also very convenient. Overall the app is a great experience and I think everybody should at the very least try it out as the app is definitely worth it.

Better than MyFitnessPal

There is way too much going on in MFP in my opinion, and the only pieces i like are in FitBee. Shortcuts & Siri are a super easy way to scan a barcode ASAP and it has the core features MFP has.

Just be very diligent about what your goals are and if you’ll be able to track your metrics with either app.

Easy and intuitive

It could be difficult to track everything you eat if it’s annoying to do so. This app makes it very simple, quick and easy so I can do it as I go. it would be nice if there was a way to export the data and put it into a CSV file or something like that so I can analyze it later.

exporting workouts from other devices

Wish you could export other workouts from other devices than just apple. Allowing to input or enter workouts from other devices would be great or even able to edit. Nope. Sorry if you think I’m being critical but the workout side of this app needs tuned up. The calorie side of the app I would say is good. Better yet would be if it provided you with healthy alternatives to include or exclude from your diet…hmmmm🤔.

Hi there, thank you for your review! FitBee integrates with Apple Health to import your workouts. However, the workouts don't need to be logged directly by Apple Health. Many apps like Strava, MapMyRun, Nike Running Club, and others support exporting data to Apple Health. FitBee will automatically import these workouts and provide calorie credits for them. As for manually logging workouts, that's on the roadmap and planned for a future update.

The best tracker out there

I’ve used a bunch of calorie trackers and FitBee is the best I’ve found. It’s got a large nutrition database and barcode scanning is free. I also like that I can take a photo and get a calorie estimate. Highly recommend it!

Super Easy to use and free version version lets me scan

I’m new at this (second full day) but finding that with the free scanner I can get almost all my regular foods added. I started with a rival app yesterday but it requires everything be entered by hand without getting the premium version. This app lets me get a real feel for it’s utility without making me pay for a month. It is also easy to create a recipe for a meal you regularly eat. I will most likely buy the premium version since this is nearly perfect. I do see one area which would undoubtedly make this head and shoulders above rival apps. The developers should make it possible for me to add foods I always have on hand without having to add them to a meal or snack. I saw another reviewer also suggested having a “Pantry” users could store their regular foods in for quick access. I have made a work around by adding products I will use soon and putting them in a meal or snack with the smallest possible quantity like 1/8 serving or 1 gram so I can retrieve them tomorrow or later this week without having to scan labels and add micro nutrients. In short I love this little app and am happy to add new brands of food from Central Texas to the database so future users can easily add them without scanning. Thank you for the great app and keep making it better.

Thanks for such a thoughtful review. The pantry idea is great! Feel free to email feedback@fitbee.app, I'd love to learn more about how you'd like it to work.

Log your food and get back to your life

TL;DR: It's a great app overall, but particularly if you log food by weight, this is the app for you. Full review: I've been using FitBee for two weeks, and for the first time in three years, my body weight is finally heading in the right direction. I've tried three other apps, but none worked for me. The difference is that those apps put their emphasis on having huge food databases, but seemed to give very little thought to the workflow of logging what you eat. With them, I found myself endlessly searching for an entry in their (you might say bloated) food databases, and/or then tapping away at their clunky data entry screens to get the record in (logging by grams/weight exacerbated the issue). With time, I gave up on each one. By contrast, FitBee gets the basics right, and recording a log entry is about as few steps as it can be. (As a bonus, because it's quick to log food, I can add up the calories before I actually eat, and avoid giving myself a food coma.) As for the food database, it's a good size - in two weeks of eating, I've only had to manually enter one food. I also appreciate that I haven't had to rifle through a bunch of unvetted outside additions with incomplete or erroneous data. FitBee is still growing - it needs multi-device sync, expanded Shortcuts support, and I'd love the option to keep my data entirely in iCloud for privacy. Even in its current state though, it's the leader of the pack in my eyes.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review! Your wishlist is a pretty tall order 😅 but we’ll get on it!

Super cool app, but more versatility would be nice

I’ve loved the app so far, however I do wish that it was possible to choose how the serving size system works in the recipe maker, like in LoseIt! that allows you to pick the unit for the portions of your recipe and then calculates the calories based on the ingredients and what the yield was. For instance, in grams or something.

Hi - thanks for your feedback and giving FitBee a try! I'd love to understand your use case a bit more. Could you email feedback@fitbee.app?

Functional and to the point

Very easy and simple to use. Let’s you log calories and search for foods in a direct manner without features that get in the way.

The AI camera feature is awesome too. Really nice way to log when you don’t have time to put in details.

Seems very handy so far

Haven’t used it long, but I like it much more than other meal apps I’ve used.
