  • Misleading and terrible app by Rinnai

    One of the reasons I purchased the RXP-199 is because of the Bluetooth app. Find out now that the app is for professionals and not homeowners. Extremely misleading marketing. Although it seems that Rinnai is “looking into” giving homeowners access, it seems it hasn’t occurred. This is a 2 month fix at best. Must be afraid of some legal issues I guess but just have homeowners sign off and move on. Very disappointing. It’s also seems that looking at other reviews that the app is dysfunctional. Time to get another developer. Hope the product is better than this mess. Will find out soon. Hard to recommend right now.

  • Broken support with RWM101 WiFi Module

    Recent software updates have broken support for older RWM101 WiFI modules and now constantly getting “control failed” errors. Customer support contacted many times and unable to resolve issue. Customer support aware current app is no longer compatible with older hardware and their recommendation is for customer to buy updated WiFI module which is ridiculous since they broke app functionality with recent hardware / app updates. My WiFi module is not broken, just the app no longer supports it. Unable to roll back app to working version either. Extremely disappointed with Rinnai given the tankless water heater is $2.000.

  • Much improved

    As a plumber the new RWM200 and Bluetooth capability is night and day compared to the older model controllers. It is also nice to connect to the unit via Bluetooth to set the parameter
  • Wasted hours

    For 2 years I’ve had only one issue with the app until a few weeks ago. Now my water heater won’t connect no matter what I do. I’ve wasted hours and hours. I’ve tried both apps. I’m so beyond frustrated. I’ll be calling customer services today. But living in an area with drought, this is the only thing that has prevented us from wasting gallons and gallons of water trying to get a warm shower. Please fix your operating system. I’m obviously not the only one having issues.

  • Disappointed Customer

    When your app rating is 1.9 out of 5 you might need to hire a different app developer. Major disappointment on a high-quality item, their app is completely useless despite their many updates. I think my 13-year-old could program a better app than what they have representing their company. Sad state.

  • Working Perfectly Now.

    The latest version that I have (4.0.6) is working great. It took many versions by Rinnai tech team to get it right but I’m very happy with this app now. Hats off to the team that made all the necessary changes.

  • New User Registration Fails again

    I am disappointed on two levels. I purchased a new Rinnai RXP 199i as a homeowner and I work as a plumber on the side installing units.

    The new user registration has failed for me at every attempt. It requests a 6 digit number for confirmation and as soon as I enter the number from my email and hit confirm. It does not register the confirm button.

    I was unable to set up my personal account and now I am having the same issue with my Pro account.

    Please fix this. I’ve had nothing but issues trying to set up this account. This is your customers first impression and mine so far is Two Big Thumbs Down.

  • Why this app?

    Installed and created new account. I had issues with continue button but somehow after 20 tries it worked. After registering the device. I thought it will allow to manage but bummer it’s app isn’t designed to support the device. It looks like it needs Wifi module connection to manage the device and I don’t have it. So if you don’t have Wifi module then better not install this app.

    We apologize for the registration issues - we have been experiencing some issues on registration confirmation, and are working on correcting it. All of our devices do require the Rinnai Wireless Module to interact with the module using the application. The RX/CX Series Tankless Water Heaters have Bluetooth for the purpose of setup by the installer and to use recirculation remote push buttons, but for end user interaction with the application, wireless communication using the module is required.
  • Create accent fail

    Purchase a new unit, attempted to create a new account. When prompted to enter the verification number and press "continue"....nothing happens. Can press the button 100x and nothing happens.

  • Updates Not Helping

    This app has had issues from the start. All recent updates have not fixed the issues. The Control Issue is still a problem without any new updates to really fix it in more than a week. To say the least, Rinnai’s development and updating of this app has been a disappointment.
