A solid exercise program, app needs improving
Having done the 5BX program before I know it’s a good way to come back from long-term injuries. This time I decided to use an app instead of printing the schedule off the internet.
The app looks good, and explains the exercises to you clearly, but in my mind struggles with 2 things:
1. You can’t pick which level to start at. Fine if you’re starting from scratch, but not ideal if you’ve already begun the programme elsewhere.
2. Once you have finished the exercise reps you can’t skip the remaining time to move on to the next exercise. This makes the app almost unusable at the lowest levels where they give you 2 minutes to touch your toes twice.
Sadly I won’t be using the app again until they fix at least one of those issues.

Good potential, but falls short
It’s good for what it cost (nothing), but a few things keep it from being great:
1. There is no way to skip to the next exercise, so you have to wait until the timer runs out even if the exercises only took 10 seconds. The workout lasts 11 minutes even if it only takes 4.
2. There is no way to remove ads, and you have to watch an ad before starting a workout. That would be a great in-app purchase.
3. There is no link to Apple Health.
Having said that, it’s the only free 5BX app I’ve found, which is why I started with it.
