  • Still a lovely Christmas advent app, good value

I have this calendar every year, since the first London one, and there’s always something new. Some years I like better than others (this year is not my favourite, I prefer villages with ordinary people and no servants!) but it’s still pretty. The wildlife spotting each day and the artwork is a nice new departure. The calendar ‘opens’ well before the 1st December, so you can decorate the tree and play a few games - I reckon £7 (same as a coffee and a sandwich on the High Street) is reasonable for 25 days of activity, a range of games etc. It’s a bit more twee this year, but that’s the style. I’d buy it for the bauble crush game alone!
I’m hoping for fewer teddy videos and a town setting next year, but I’ll be buying it again, no doubt.

  • Wholesome and beautiful

So few things really exceed expectations the way this advent calendar does. I really love how immersive it feels opening the app every day to see what’s new. It’s nice also to just hang out in the house and listen to the music or redecorate something or play one of the many relaxing games. The art is so gorgeous and the stories are so sweet and wholesome. I recommend it everywhere I go.

  • Victorian Style

This is my first year and I must say…I am in LOVE! Everything is adorable, from the kitten to the art to the recipes. Thanks for proving such a beautiful game for the season! I’ll be back next year to purchase!
  • Amazing!

I received this as a gift, and it was worth every penny!

There’s lots of fun puzzle games, decorations to make, books to read, animals to interact with, and lots of hidden Easter eggs!

10/10 recommend you buy this yearly
  • Lovely but not the best

I buy an advent calendar for myself and my friends every year. We love them, discuss them and it gets us into the festive spirit.

    Positives

    Beautiful illustration work
    The pets are back!
    Lots of games to try
Lots of interesting information about Edwardian life
    No gnomes/elves

    Negatives

There is a clitch in the solitaire game
Not enough little surprises - finding the animals is cute (the sketchbook is gorgeous) but very easy
A shame that there are not more interactive decorations in the room - I expected to be able to click on all those paintings

I feel like I’m being really picky - but we have all got used to such a high standard I’m afraid and it is a purchased game.

  • A little boring

It’s very well done as always but I just clicked back on the London one which was awesome, or even last year’s. The one improvement is the drawing room which is fantastic. The animals are cute but almost too tasteful? In fact the whole thing is a bit too restrained.
  • Not worth the money

The app is working fine a bit expensive for it however was willing to pay as had calendars in the past and they have been lovely and exciting and lots to do . I feel like I am being fobbed off with loads of 30 seconds videos everytime I open a door on the countdown to Xmas . I have done three activities out of 13 so far . Decorate the tree , decorate flower varse and make a wreathe . I am bored of the videos I need more activities and stimulation especially for the amount I paid . Each door I open I am expecting some kind of activity and I am disappointed . The graphics and nice and the era is lovely but save your money people and go and buy something else .

  • Beautiful and boring

No magic to this one—very little holiday spirit. The scene is ok but not engaging. Animals are not “holiday.” All in all disappointing. Get someone more Fezziwig and less Scrooge working on it next year. Maybe the developers need more help and a raise. They’re trying and granted it must be hard to please everyone, but study the Nordic calendar because everyone seemed to like that one and these are just getting less engaging every year. Want to love it for the graphics but with no shops it’s just cold and stoic. Edwardian shops started the store window decorations. This one is winter with very little Christmas.

  • It’s all very distant in look and feel.

I miss the village theme. Peering at the distant Manor House (as well as all the other buildings) thru trees is disappointing. Instead of busy villagers preparing for the holiday, we have lots of ppl riding horses or walking aimlessly. I reactivated my Sussex calendar and I’m enjoy replaying it more.
