Needs some enhancements

I’ve only just downloaded and haven’t used properly, but please allow us to change the name of stops to something that makes sense. Lots of stops on both sides of a street are called the same name. I’d like to be able to rename them so the stops are clearer. You could do this in the old app.

I miss the old app

This new app has been such a pain honestly. While the layout and colour is a lot more inviting, the functionality feels clunkier and less intuitive. Additionally, this app doesn’t appear to show the physical locations of the buses like the last one did. Instead, it just has a “live departures” feature, which I have not found to be accurate. Three times, this week alone, I have consulted the app for the live departures feature (as the bus I take from work is routinely early or late but hardly ever on time), and twice I have either watched the bus drive past me several minutes earlier than the time indicated by the live departures feature, or waited over 20 minutes past this time for the bus to show up. I just wish the live departures function accurately showed when the bus would arrive (regardless of when it’s formally scheduled to).

Better the old app

I am totally lost on this new apps, the old apps allows you to saved the bus stops and the buses that is useful to your daily trip to work or to go somewhere, but this new apps it’s hard for an old users to figure out how this really works. I am sorry but not a friendly users specifically some elderly like me. 🥹

Good for visitors!

We were visiting from USA and found the app very helpful for our 5 day stay in Edinburgh. It downloaded quickly, was quick to set up an account and payment system and got us to several sites scattered around Edinburgh quickly and inexpensively. We used the couples pass mostly. The route planning and schedule information was very clear.
The Lothian app and transit system is a great asset to your lovely city!

Old app was better

I’m a huge Lothian buses fan - you’re always innovating and improving things - but this app seems to be a misstep. I’ve held off reviewing in case I was just unfamiliar with the new app, but having used it for a while I agree with lots of other people. You’ve made it harder to use, less intuitive and removed some functions I used all the time, the most important one being able to look at routes for individual buses. Please make it better - there really was nothing wrong with the old app.

Works well, but cream tickets in app are more expensive than ticket machines

I’ve downloaded the new bus and tram app and surprised and disappointed to find that there’s no option anywhere to purchase a basic return tram city zone ticket at £3.80. Just a day ticket for £5.00. Absolutely no incentive to use the app when it charges an extra 32%! I could buy 2 singles at £2 each, but an app should be easier and no more expensive than the ticket machines, no? Also, no kids tickets on the app either.

Lothian Bus & Tram App

Hugely disappointed with the new App, not as good as the old one, which I stupidly removed before I realised how bad the new one is!
Old App used to remember regular journeys which made it easier to check times and live updates, now have to state where you’re travelling from and to, every time.
Hopefully some of the old features will be reintroduced and make it more useful for regular users, but not impressed at the moment!

Bad update

Still works, but the previous interface was much better and more intuitive... idk why they decided to change it

It’s improved and feels like it has reason to exist now

When they first launched this new app it felt wildly incomplete and like a big step down. I think with consistent updates they’ve managed to bring it to a place where it’s a really solid app. Still don’t think it’s as good as the old one, but it feels smoother to use and I like features such as the refresh bar indicating exactly when it’ll update the times. It also feels like the route colours are more integrated across the whole app. Features like the new homepage are obviously better for tourists, and the UI elements are larger making it better to use for those with visibility impairments. Keep updating and improving it and you’ll end up with another 5 star app.

Would be great if there was integration w/ other operators

This is my go to app for travelling within Edinburgh/Lothian as the times are more reliable than google maps, traveline, etc. but only for lothian services. I think it would be very nice if yous are able to implement timetables/live times for other bus companies such as McGill's or Stagecoach, or even trains. I know the GVB app does it and it made it very easy to plan a trip to Haarlem, via a mix of tram and train, when I was on holiday in Amsterdam. The main reason i ask is because i occasionally go to glasgow using either the stagecoach 900 bus or scotrail, but i have to get to a bus/train station first using a lothian service, and im sure this feature would also come in handy for people coming from outside edinburgh to visit a friend who lives quite far from the centre.
