Leave a Review Stelo by Dexcom
When HYPE meets Reality; My Stelo let me down….
Whew! Where to begin…I signed up for a Stelo BioSensor from an Ad on IG.
Mistake #1(?)
Maybe with all the HYPE about CMG’s Stelo felt the pressure to bring a “product to market; before it was ready…?”🤷🏻♀️
Like several people mentioned, I too was looking for a way to be pro-active about my health…before I got Diabetes.
I have Fasted consistently for 2 years and monitored my Glucose and Ketones, thru a finger stick.
The Continuous BioSensor CAN be convenient, IF it worked as advertised. When I look at my charts… it’s giving me Readings “that look like Hiccups” Clearly the unit is Failing.
I’m 1/2 thru the 15 day life. I purchased in advance the “extra adherent bandage looking covers for it. That’s not the issue.
Classic tech company behavior… No Live Staff to reach out to … You initially can Chat with a 🤖… then the Bot says “log into your Account for more assistance/information/FAQ…
Speaking of Tech… Can we say “infinite loop?”
None of it is helpful to say…”Can you just send a Replacement Unit?” No email.. no #’s, Live Chat is a Bot…
This feels like 🩸Theranos🩸
The upside is … I’ve only invested $100 here.Show lessHides and falsely reports very high glucose
This is a good system and a good app with one truly massive flaw. I understand that Stelo is mostly meant for pretty well controlled diabetes, but hiding data that is over 250 is a super weird, bad choice. The message is essentially “yeah that’s super high and you should do something about it,” which, while obviously true, leaves the user totally in the dark. Worse, it just starts reporting all 250s which is not just unhelpful, it is *false*. What it suggests to me, frankly, is that there’s probably some other reason, like maybe Stelo loses accuracy over 250. How are we to know? That doesn’t seem right though, because Dexcom does keep and use the numbers over 250 in Clarity. Limiting is an awful design decision I can’t really imagine an honest defense for. The user should know what their level is. That’s the job. Seems simple. I will gladly add at least 2 stars to this review if they change that, because Stelo is otherwise really well put together.Show lessApple Watch not working with Stelo
I downloaded the Stelo app by Dexcom. I tried to make one of my complications Stelo but it wasn’t offered. So I searched the web to find an Apple Watch face that would support Stelo. I found a website (not a dexcom website) that showed three different face that work. I tried one called Utility and you can actually select one of the complication as Stelo. The downside is that it works for awhile then it stops. It shows the word Stelo or three -. You have to touch that then your watch face goes away and a graph comes up with a number. When you go back to your watch face you either get your number for awhile or get the Stelo word or three -. Should would be nice if you would get this fixed. It would also be nice that Dexcom would state on their website which watch face the support.Show less
