  • Simple app, works well. Roll back to previous widgets please.

The new rollout for the widgets are terrible. They doesn’t work anymore. Cannot copy the code needed directly. Please return widgets to previous form. I’ll return my rating to 5 stars if the previous widgets are restored.
  • OTP as it should be

I have been a user of Authy for years, but the lack of innovation and a decent macOS client (it’s there but awful) led me to look elsewhere.

This app works seamlessly across iPhone, iPad, Watch and macOS, offers iCloud sync if you want it, encrypted local backups and the ability to export is a revelation given how difficult it is to get data out of Authy.

To finally have a Safari extension for OTP is reason enough to buy this app, it makes OTP less of a cut and paste hassle and streamlines logging into services which use it.

  • New widget a big downgrade

Edit: seems the old widget is still there (I wrote this review after I saw the new one and noticed the old one appeared missing). Since I can still use the old widget that shows the codes, I’ve bumped this back to 5 starts. Great app.

I’ve been using this app for years, and loved it. Best feature has been the widget. But now, with iOS 14, it’s lost its use for me. Before, it used to show the codes for certain apps. Now, you have to open the app to see these codes. Definitely a step back, unfortunately. Would’ve been 5 stars if not for this.

    Developer Response

Hi there! Thank you for your feedback! 🙏 Unfortunately, Apple decided to make the content of the new iOS 14 widgets static with updates in certain intervals. Currently, one can update the content of an iOS 14 widget every 5 minutes at most. That would mean that a code is outdated for 4:30 min before an update occurs. Therefore, I thought it’s better to only show a link into the app 😊. However, since the old widget better fits certain use cases (like yours) it's still possible to use the old widget. For that scroll to the very left on your home screen (to the long list of widgets). On that screen scroll to the bottom and tap „Edit“. Scroll to the bottom again and tap „Customize“ and add the old OTP Auth Widget. In case the old widget does not show up, a restart of your device might be required 😊. Best regards, Roland
  • Broken after iOS 14 update

I loved this app and relied on it everyday for work until it broke after these latest updates.

It no longer works in share sheet on safari.
It longer shows the running codes in notification centre.
The widget doesn’t show any visible codes, it’s just copy and paste - you don’t know if the code is about to expire or not.

It’s too bad, this app was perfect before.

  • OTP Auth > sliced bread!

This is the only application I’m aware of which does OTP authorization correctly to secure the process. I’d pay double your in-app purchase for a Firefox Add-On & simple open OTP Auth when Firefox == presentUponURL integration. .
  • Superb

I have accounts for my personal stuff, banking, PayPal, home network logins, crypto and also my clients. Being able to put them all into folders with iCloud backup is priceless.
    Great app!
  • Edit: Old Widget returned after reboot

Edit: as indicated on Twitter, the old widget reappears after a reboot. Please make sure it stays there in future versions of the app. I love this app again, 5 stars.

Original: I used to love this app. It was my go-to because of how easy it made it to access my OTP codes from my lock screen or home screen. The new “update” renders this feature completely worthless, showing fewer accounts (only 3) and not even showing the codes! I’m disappointed.

  • Best OTP available

I have tried them all. This one is easily the best. It frustrates me when I read reviews and articles on OTP apps and this one isn’t mentioned. Best for multi device, backup/restore, GUI layout, speed, security, etc. I can’t imagine anyone trying this app and not preferring it to many of the other ones that are available.

  • Amazing App! (2 stars is temporary)

This app is truly wonderful, although it lacks one feature, one mostly important with iOS 14 : Widgets.
Why is there no 2FA on my home screen yet? It’s been a month now.
With that fixed, this app deserves its perfect score.
  • Very good app.

Suits most cases and allows for it to be password protected.

You do need to pay for a custom reference date, but this is not really an issue in most cases as its fairly uncommon for it to be changed (in my case, at least), and it’s a good thing to support the developer anyway. I’m totally fine with custom icons being a paid thing as well.

One problem I had was that when using the shortcut features it has, it will give an error (presumably since I have it password protected). It would probably assist a few others in troubleshooting if this error was a bit more specific.

I would love for a new shortcut action to be added (or simply a new parameter in the copy ones already present) so that I could resolve this by prompting for a password and then using that password to attempt to copy it.

Allowing descriptions would also be nice, but I feel like that would cause the app to become a it too bloated for some people, and in most cases they might just be better off switching to BitWarden or KeePass in combination with another app.
