  • WTH

Maybe I’m an idiot, but this app is ridiculously hard to use, to the point I can’t find where any of the functionality is. It seems to have taken a minimalist design aesthetic to the extreme by removing all buttons, help text, instructions, etc. It’s like a house where a minimalist architect decided doors and windows were so 2010 an so made the design an impenetrable cube. I have routines set up to run from the website, but when I disconnected the services and got errors I tried to use the app and it said I have nothing configured. Nada. Zip. Everything is blank. Except for the activity log, THAT it knows has things going on. There are just two buttons: Explore and Create. Create is a blank void, where tapping, swiping, holding, pinching do nothing. Explore brings up a bunch of routines, which isn’t helpful as I haven’t told it what hardware I have. Anyway, rant over. IFTTT is a fabulous concept and works great when you get things set up. But this app is a big fail. (Tested on new iPad Air 2020.)

  • Terrible experience

This tech is really buggy, customer service is non existent, really terrible and unreliable way to connect devices.

First time out, created account. Looking to get myQ garage door to link with Alexa. Set up the applet for automated closure at a certain time. Worked no problem. Linked account with Alexa by creating a new applet and making the connection. Website creates this Alexa applet in triplicate thereby exceeding my “free” account applet limit and not a single one of the three connects with Alexa. Get an error when I try to connect “something went wrong” and I get the same error when I try to archive to make room for new applet creation. Unbelievable first time out, so disappointed. No troubleshooting suggestions for this one on the website. And the “not every report will be replied to” is oh so comforting.

Could not review lower rating, otherwise I would.

  • Takes too long

I use IFTTT to receive notifications on my phone every time my WeMo device turns on or off. Last year the notifications took less than 1 minute to appear on my phone. Now the notifications take over an hour. I don't know what has changed but the IFTTT notifications have become sort of useless. Please fix this. Thanks.

  • When did u get lame???

Do you know it’s really sad that I’m not gonna be able to continue work using lFTTT as I have been an enthusiastic fan for many years and between the various different accounts I have had, I have spent so much time and creative effort here, but to limit the number of Applets able to be created — especially so drastically as a mere 3 — and then to pitch a subscription priced as high as music/media services... Well that’s more than just steep... It’s greedy... and given the long lived limited nature of the end product by contrast to what’s far surpassed IFTTT even with the premium membership and remains FREE... well, seems after years of talking you up and having suggested and steered well over a hundred people to check you out, I’m out and won’t have nice opinions anymore... hate when good developers go hardcore greedy..

  • $9.99 lol 😝

Lol who do you think you are? Hahaha 🤣
  • Done with subscription money grabs

This was a great app and very useful. I get that with the popularity and growth there is more expenses in development but the subscriptions these days are tiring. I’d be ok with a single purchase price between $10-20 but $6.99 a month get the F outta here.
  • The subscription is US dollars outside Apple Store

I downloaded the app. The billing and payments to get the pro subscription brings you to the website and they charge you in US dollars without indicating it. I just discovered it after I paid for the annual membership when I looked at my creditcard statement. As Canadian buying in Canada I was to expect it to be in Canadian dollars/ or at least show me that it will be a foreigner currency.

They have no phone you can reach! To communicate with them you have to fill a form in their website and they don’t respond in a fashion way. Consumers be aware. Not a pleasant experience from my side.

  • Great program, terrible transition to “pro”

I found IFTTT to be a solid if-then platform, and created a number of simple applets. They have now created a “free forever” ghetto for existing users where all but 3 existing applets have been “archived” and held hostage unless a user upgrades to “pro”. This treatment of their user base who helped build the app into a popular and powerful tool is frustrating and unfair. $4/month is an unreasonable price just to keep using the apps we have been using for all this time. 3 applets is far too few to remain a viable automation platform. How about a “plus” level for existing users for, say $1/month for more than 3 applets? Some additional option would be nice. I’m super disappointed in this pay wall transition. You have crushed an otherwise winning app.

  • Cannot delete

Not able to delete applets anymore. I got many useless applets I need to delete.
  • App is fine. Developer definitely is not.

I had only started fiddling with IFTTT when the company went into full-on self destruct mode with their pricing scheme. A pro version with new, enhanced features? That would’ve been fine. What they did instead was cripple the free version so badly that it isn’t even worth getting started with this platform and company. They could’ve easily satisfied the power users with a pro version without alienating tinkerers, but they got greedy. I would definitely recommend looking around at other options and don’t even bother starting with IFTTT.
