  • Amazing simplicity

This unusual and engaging strategy slash tower defense game is outstanding.
It's not unbeatable. It's hard especially after wave 20 but I've only player end 3 times so far and have gotten to wave 28. I didn't win wave 28, but I got there and with relatively little in game experience.
It's al about planning and careful resource management with being aware of strategic defense points. Build without a plan or strategy and yeah, you'll end up with an indefensible mess. That's not an unbeatable game, that unskilled or impatient players.
This game is a true 5 star marvel.

  • Love this game

I love how this games does so much with so little. No fancy graphics just great game dynamics and overall put together very nicely. The minion AI IS irritating, but i was able to get all the achievements in normal mode. Going to move on to 'Plus' mode and try that.
  • Brilliant. Want more.

A brilliant, minimalist strategy game. For those saying it's impossible after level 12-16: you're just not very good at it. I've hit level 32, it just takes thought and planning.

The pace, progression, and flow of the game are spot on.

Even the much maligned AI is fine once you figure out how it makes its decisions (go for the most in-need resource, via the shortest path. On weapon runs, fill to the nearest - in the order of orders given,) it's predictable and something you can plan around.

Oh, and for the people saying you just have to leave minions in the weapons rooms at higher levels: design your bases better. There's plenty of safe work for minons to do in a well-surrounded core. Even better, it's work without a timer - free labor.

The only this I'm really craving is more scenarios and challenges. I loved the changes in strategy the plus towers had, and could go for a few more of those.

  • Astoundingly good and complex

This games has a lot in it. It's addictive and has an easy to catch mechanic. Like how you have the option to develop new strategies to achieve the the rather simply stated goals (very challenging) - it keeps the process of building and connecting interesting. There is more subtly to this game than at first might appear. Added bonus to those like like Tetris too!

  • Great but

Great but I think it needs more content different guns for the defenders is my favourite idea
  • Easy to learn, fun to master

Some games get too difficult way too quickly. This one did not do that; all objectives were challenging but not "impossible." The only one I thought was very difficult was 28 waves on plus. Very fun until then because there are more than one method to do things.
  • Great concept

I love this game, I had bought it for the PSVita, and now for iOS. It's the same, but this version is slightly improved. I wish it could have random scenarios in order to be always playable, since once you finish the game you don't want to play the same world all over again. Also, I'd like to have more control over a single minion, now it's pretty random which one is going to do the action you assign. 4 star, could be 5.

  • More content

Pretty awesome game, but needs more in it. Add more platforms to build, maybe a new mode, perhaps new types of enemies. Stuff like that
  • Crashes when a goal is achieved

An addictive game, despite the annoyingly dumb minions, that I have enjoyed playing until the most recent upgrade. I am running iOS 8.4.1 on iPad 2 and the game now crashes every time a goal is achieved ie a monolith is researched and level 28 is reached. Please fix the bugs.
  • Great game but...

(tl;dr) Let me be clear, this is a great idea with nice clean minimalist execution. If you have money to burn then it's worth about 2 hours of your time.

The problem is there is absolutely no replay value, because the waves of enemies quickly become unmanageable and the game becomes pointless. I played this for about 3 hours in an airport, and after completing all objectives I was supremely bored for the last hour, then I gave up trying to find something else to enjoy about it and haven't been back since. The big problem with the replayability is that the tetris-style randomness of the building blocks have almost no bearing on the outcome. Every single time you play will be almost identical, even though the building block shapes will be slightly different.

A recent update added a Zen mode which strangely removes all the enemies and level progression- this means you literally have no reason to do anything. Why build anything? Why build armoury rooms when there's nothing to shoot at? Why reach the monoliths and get upgrades when you aren't building for any reason anyway? The update also added a hard mode, which is basically an even shorter version of the normal mode. All that happens is you reach the more-minions-dying-than-minions-being-born limit quicker.

The final issue, that was not fixed in the update, is the minion AI. A typical problem is when you have about 12 minions all carrying a power block to the same room, but the room only needs 1 power block. As soon as the first minion reached the room, all 11 others just dropped the blocks and those blocks are now lost. It's like the minions have no idea what is going on around them, and they all think they are the only one working. Either give the minions better AI, or give me better control over them.
